Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device in which a processing system instantiates a data collector agent at an edge of a communication network. The data collector agent determines a type of data to be collected for executing an application, determines a data collection procedure including a data collection algorithm selected in accordance with the application, and performs the data collection procedure, resulting in collected data. The system can also configure a data processing module to process the collected data in accordance with the application; the data processing module is connected to the data collector agent and a database, and includes a data streaming system. The system can also configure a monitoring module connected to the controller for monitoring performance of the data processing module and a status of the database, and store the collected data in near real time. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which an end user device sends a first request to a digital video recorder (DVR) to receive a media content item, and receives a metadata file including authentication information and a network address of a media content server where the media content item is located. The end user device sends a second request to the media content server to receive the media content item; the second request is sent to the network address and includes the authentication information and an identification of the requested media content item. The end user device receives the media content item from the media content server, responsive to the authentication information and the identification of the media content item sent in the second request. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a request to create an optimal flight path for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), wherein the request includes an origin and a destination of a UAV flight, receiving an indicator of network loading between the origin and destination, determining if there is a no-fly zone between the origin and the destination, creating a softwall surrounding the no-fly zone based on the identifying step, generating the optimal flight path for the UAV based on the indicator and avoidance of the softwall, and transmitting the optimal flight path to the UAV.

Abstract: A system may collect data from different sources, process and fuse the data, and distribute the processed or fused data to user devices in a near-real time manner. In an example, a processor may effectuates operations that include operations, such as receiving information from a plurality of devices at a location during a period, the information may include electronic media and location information, wherein the location information corresponds to where the electronic media was created; fusing the information from the plurality of devices, wherein the fusing includes superimposing the electronic media of the plurality of devices, wherein the electronic media includes images, video, or audio; anonymizing the fused information, wherein the anonymizing includes replacing people in the electronic media with an icon; receiving a request for an image, video, or audio associated with the location and the period; and in response to the request, providing the anonymized fused information corresponding to the location and the period.

Abstract: A processing system having at least one processor may obtain, from at least one probe packet, path measurements among pairs of host devices of a plurality of host devices in a packet network comprising a plurality of links, and compose a plurality of linear equations, each linear equation relating one of the path measurements between a respective pair of host devices to at least one link performance indicator for a corresponding one or more of the links in the packet network between the respective pair of host devices. The processing system may then determine a plurality of link performance indicators for the plurality of links via a solution to the plurality of linear equations, the plurality of link performance indicators including the at least one link performance indicators of each of the linear equations, and generate a report comprising at least one of the plurality of link performance indicators.

Abstract: Assignment of network addresses and estimations of flow sizes associated with network nodes can be enhanced. Assignment management component (AMC) partitions a set of network addresses into subsets of network addresses associated with respective classes. For respective virtual machines (VMs), an estimator component estimates a flow size associated with a VM based on parameters associated with the VM. AMC classifies VMs based on threshold flow-size values and respective estimated flow sizes of VMs, and assigns VMs to respective sub-groups of VMs associated with respective subsets of network addresses based on respective classifications of VMs. AMC assigns an available network address of a subset of network addresses associated with a class to a VM of a sub-group associated with that class. Estimated flow sizes and performance metrics also are utilized to make determinations regarding VM placement, traffic management, load balancing, resource allocation, and orchestration in cloud networks.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies for providing virtualized network monitoring as a service are provided. In an embodiment, a method can include providing, by a processor of a computer system within a service host network, a network monitoring portal to a user equipment associated with a private network. The method also can include receiving, from the user equipment via the network monitoring portal, access credentials that enable access to the private network. The method can include receiving a selection of a plurality of network monitoring service modules for monitoring the private network, and instantiating a plurality of virtual network monitoring probes that each correspond to at least one of the plurality of network monitoring service modules selected. The method can include injecting the plurality of virtual network monitoring probes within the private network, where the virtual network monitoring probes are activated in response to being injected within the private network.
