    摘要: An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising a conductive support having thereon a photosensitive layer is disclosed, wherein a charge transport layer constituting said photosensitive layer or a protective layer formed on said photosensitive layer contains a charge transporting agent, said charge transporting agent being dissolved in a solid state or dispersed in a polycarbonate resin containing a monomer unit represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a cyano group, or a phenyl group; R.sub.2 represents a methyl group, a cyano group, or a phenyl group; or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are connected to each other to form a 5- or 6-membered saturated ring; X represents a chlorine atom or a bromine atom; n represents an integer; and m represents 0 or an integer.The photoreceptor exhibits high sensitivity with low residual potential.

    摘要: An electrophotographic photosensitive member has a charge-generating layer which includes selected photosensitive pigment particles and a compound which is a tetracyanoanthraquinodimethane compound, an anthraquinone compound, a dicyanovinyl compound, or a special quinone compound. The compound is incorporated in an amount in a range from 0.01 to 2 molar equivalents, preferably 0.1 to 1 molar equivalent, to the pigment, which has a positive hole transporting property. The photosensitive member has a charge-transporting layer and can also have a protective layer. The pigment is a phthalocyanine series pigment, a squarylium series pigment, or a perylene series pigment. A process of using the photosensitive member includes reversal development and multicolor toner transfer. It is found that the process is adaptable to change in size of the transfer medium.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes: an electrophotographic photoreceptor including a conductive support and a photosensitive layer including an outermost surface layer capable of transporting a charge, the layer being farthest from the conductive support and containing a resin having a crosslinking structure; a charging unit that charges the electrophotographic photoreceptor; a first exposure unit that exposes the electrophotographic photoreceptor to form an electrostatic latent image on the electrophotographic photoreceptor charged; a developing unit that develop the electrostatic latent image with a toner to form a toner image; a transfer unit that transfer the toner image from the electrophotographic photoreceptor to a medium to be transferred; and a second exposure unit that uniformly expose the electrophotographic photoreceptor, the outermost surface layer absorbing exposure light of the second exposure unit and having a maximum absorbance of about 0.05 or less in the entire wavelength range of the exposure light.
