摘要: An electrophotographic photoconductor is provided which principally consists of an electrically conductive substrate, a charge generation layer, and a charge transport layer which contains an orange dye compound. Preferably, the orange dye compound is selected from the group consisting of 1-o-tolylazo-2-naphthol, 5-(9-anthracenyl methylene) amino-3-methyl-1-tolylpyrazole, 4,5-diiodo-3,6-fluoranediol, and 4,5-dibromo-3,6-fluoranediol.

摘要: A process for recording an erasable pattern which comprises selective deaggregation of an aggregate dye complex layer of a recording element. As a result, a color change occurs in the selected areas. In preferred embodiments, the pattern is produced by selectively exposing the layer to laser light. The pattern can be erased by exposing the layer to an appropriate solvent, or by heating the aggregate dye complex.

摘要: A METHOD OF RECORDING INFORMATION USING A RECORDING MATERIAL HAVING A WATER-PERMEABLE RECORDING LAYER CONSISTING ESSENTIALLY OF A CONTINUOUS PHASE OF AT LEAST ONE PROTEINACEOUS HYDROPHILIC COLLOID BINDER HAVING DISTRIBUTED THERETHROUGH FINELY DIVIDED PARTICLES OF A HYDROPHILIC INORGANIC PHOTOCONDUCTIVE COMPOUND IN ONE EMBOIDIMENT AND FINELY DIVIDED PARTICLES OF A NON-PHOTOCONDUCTIVE HYDROPHILIC PIGMENT, PLUS AN ORGANIC PHOTOCONDUCTIVE DYE, IN ANOTHER EMBODIMENT, WHEREIN THE RECORDING LAYER IS IMAGE-WISE EXPOSED TO ACTIVE ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION AND THEN DEVELOPED BY CONTACTING THE SAME WITH AN AQUEOUS LIQUID TO PRODUCE A VISBILE CHANGE IN THE RECORDING LAYER BY PENETRATION OR REMOVAL OF THE WATER-PERMEABLE UNEXPOSED REGIONS OF THE LAYER BY THE AQUEOUS LIQUID. THE RATIO BY WEIGHT OF HYDROPHILIC PARTICLES TO HYDROPHILIC COLLOID IS ABOUT 1:1 TO 5:1 AND THE PROPORTION OF THE ORGANIC PHOTOCONDUCTIVE DYE IS AT LEAST ABOUT 0.05% BY WEIGHT OF THE HYDROPHILIC NON-PHOTOCONDUCTIVE PARTICLES.

摘要: Reproduction systems having broader spectral sensitivity are produced wherein certain classes of dyes are added to photosensitive materials which, when activated, are capable of producing chemical reaction when in contact with image-forming agents to produce a visible image. The dyes are those which undergo a color change when heated to elevated temperatures and thus alter the spectral sensitivity of the photosensitive materials after heating. The dyes include styryl dyes substituted on the vinyl group by a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic, which in their unaltered state, themselves alter the sensitivity of the reproduction system. Improved processes using this improved reproduction system comprise selectively exposing the present systems to activating radiation after heating to the color transition temperature or alternatively first exposing and then heating to the said temperature. A preferred process is an add-on technique for addition of images to a reproduction system in which readable images are already present. The new reproduction systems of this invention have a built-in differential in spectral sensitivity by virtue of alteration of the dye by heating.
