Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate enhancements to measurement for a User Equipment (UE) in Radio Resource Control (RRC) Connected mode for configuration of Carrier Aggregation (CA) and/or Dual Connectivity (DC). One example embodiment comprises a UE device comprising a processor configured to perform operations comprising: transmitting a UE Assistance Information message comprising a measurement request; receiving a first RRCReconfiguration message comprising a measConfig information element (IE); performing one or more measurements on each of on one or more frequencies based at least on the RRC measConfig IE, wherein the one or more frequencies comprise at least one non-serving frequency associated with a neighboring cell; transmitting a MeasurementReport message that indicates the one or more measurements for at least one of the one or more frequencies; and receiving a second RRCReconfiguration message that configures the UE with the at least one of the one or more frequencies.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for determining a quasi-co-located assumption for aperiodic channel state information reference signals for multi-transmission-reception-point operation in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may establish wireless links with multiple transmission-reception-points of a cellular network. The wireless device may receive downlink control information. The wireless device may determine a quasi-co-located assumption for aperiodic channel state information reference signals for the downlink control information. Signals received according to the quasi-co-located assumption for aperiodic channel state information reference signals may be buffered by the wireless device if a scheduling offset for the downlink control information is below a scheduling offset threshold.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for user equipment device (UE) uplink antenna panel selection. The UE may determine, based on at least one condition, to perform a beam switch from a current beam being used for communications with a base station. The UE may transmit, to the base station, an indication of an antenna panel status that may include an indication of a latency associated with the beam switch. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication to switch to a target beam and to perform the switch, based on the indication, to the target beam. The indication of the antenna panel status may include a beam switching latency level for each beam in a beam report, a beam switch request that may indicate the target beam, and/or a beam switch request that may indicate that an antenna panel switch is to be applied by the UE.

Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform URLLC scheme selection. The UE may connect to at least one base station. The UE may determine scheduling of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) are within a threshold duration. Based on the PDCCH and the PDSCH being scheduled within the threshold duration, select one or more transmission control indicator (TCI) states for receiving the PDSCH irrespective of TCI state(s) indicated in the PDCCH. The UE may receive the PDSCH using the selected one or more TCI states.

Abstract: Methods to enhance the coverage of NR systems for coverage-limited wireless devices are disclosed. A serving base station may configure a coverage-limited UE with parameters for the UE to operate in a coverage enhancement mode through RRC signaling, DCI, or RAR grant. The UE may use the configuration parameters to determine whether to enter into the coverage enhancement mode when connecting and communicating with the serving base station. The configuration parameters may configure the UE to exploit both time diversity and frequency diversity to extend and enhance coverage when receiving the PDSCH and PDCCH channels, when transmitting the PUSCH and PUCCH channel, and when transmitting PUSCH Msg3 during random access. Advantageously, the base station may flexibly and dynamically configure the UE with coverage enhancement parameters to extend the coverage of the UE using time diversity and frequency diversity gains as the UE moves around.

Abstract: Techniques to protect a subscriber identity, by encrypting a subscription permanent identifier (SUPI) to form one-time use subscription concealed identifiers (SUCIs) using a set of one-time ephemeral asymmetric keys, generated by a user equipment (UE), and network provided keys are disclosed. Encryption of the SUPI to form the SUCIs can mitigate snooping by rogue network entities, such as fake base stations. The UE is restricted from providing the unencrypted SUPI over an unauthenticated connection to a network entity. In some instances, the UE uses a trusted symmetric fallback encryption key KFB or trusted asymmetric fallback public key PKFB to verify messages from an unauthenticated network entity and/or to encrypt the SUPI to form a fallback SUCIFB for communication of messages with the unauthenticated network entity.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for network assisted side-link resource configuration for unicast and/or multi-cast/groupcast communications in V2X networks. A UE may, after establishing an RRC connection with a base station, transmit, to the base station, V2X connection information. The V2X connection information may include a V2X identifier associated with the UE and a V2X identifier associated with a target UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, a side-link configuration for data transmission with the target UE. The side-link configuration may include a resource allocation defined in time and frequency (e.g., a transmit/receive pool). The UE may communicate with the target UE using the resource allocation included in the side-link configuration.
