摘要: A system according to embodiments of this invention provide a multiple transmit antenna (117-1 . . . M), multiple receive antenna (121-1 . . . N) (MIMO) receiver (125) design for the communication downlinks such as those used in CDMA technology. Two algorithms referred to as the MIMO LMMSE-FFT and MIMO LMMSE-SIC (Successive Interference Cancellation) algorithms, are described in detail. In embodiments of the invention, the interference cancellation step is achieved without the impractical assumption of the knowledge of all the active Walsh codes in the systems, unlike many other interference cancellation based algorithms found in the literature.

摘要: Method that facilitates sensitive biopolymer characterization is disclosed. Post-column fluorescence detection is uniquely suitable for dynamically labeled biopolymers such as protein. Detection sensitivity has been enhanced by adding fluorescent stain and organic modifier to non-gel sieving matrix and by increasing the viscosity of sheath fluid. A detection limit better than silver staining is possible using the method according to the present invention. Throughput may be increased by parallel operation of capillary array or an array of sheath flow cuvettes.

摘要: An apparatus and corresponding method for receiving a MIMO cellular communication signal, the apparatus including: a Kalman filter type of equalizer, responsive to a received signal, for providing a corresponding processed signal indicating information conveyed by the received signal, responsive to a set of values indicating predicted state error correlation at a first instant of time given all noise estimates up through the first instant, for providing ta set of values indicating a product of measurement values and predicted state error correlation at a later instant of time given all process noise estimates up through the later instant. The filter is implemented so as to make use of the displacement structure of the state transition matrix of the Kalman filter allowing shifting operations in place of vector and matrix multiplications. The filter typically includes a transition and common data path that provides to both a Kalman gain processor and a Riccati processor the set of values indicating a product of measurement values and predicted state error correlation at a later instant of time given all process noise estimates up through the later instant.

摘要: A dispersion compensation system includes one or more etalons optically coupled in series. The optical path length is used to achieves the desired dispersion compensation. In one example, at least some of the etalons are tunable in OPL and have a non-tunable front reflective interface. The dispersion compensation system can be tuned, for example to compensate for different amounts of dispersion, different combinations of dispersion offset and dispersion slope and/or manufacturing variations. In another example, the etalons all have a non-tunable front reflective interface. The optical path length is selected to compensate for chromatic dispersion that varies from one wavelength channel to the next.
