A motion refinement of a coding unit (CU) is calculated by minimizing a difference between a first prediction L0 and a second prediction L1. First gradient values for the first prediction Lo and second gradient values for the second prediction L1 are calculated. A final bi-prediction of the CU is calculated. Also disclosed are an associated apparatus and an associated non-transitory computer readable storage medium.

摘要: An electronic apparatus performs a method of decoding video data. The electronic apparatus first receives, from a video bitstream having a hierarchical structure, a first syntax element associated with a first level of the hierarchical structure. In accordance with a determination that the first syntax element indicates that a palette mode is enabled for one or more coding units (CUs) under the first level in the video bitstream, the electronic apparatus reconstructs, from the video bitstream, pixel values of at least one of the one or more CUs according to a corresponding palette table. But in accordance with a determination that the first syntax element indicates that a palette mode is disabled for the one or more CUs, the electronic apparatus reconstructs, from the video bitstream, the pixel values of any of the one or more CUs according to a non-palette scheme.

The method comprises: receiving, from the bitstream, syntax elements associated with a coding unit, wherein the syntax elements include a first coded block flag (CBF) for residual samples of a first chroma component, a second CBF for residual samples of a second chroma component, and a third syntax element indicating whether adaptive color transform (ACT) is applied to the coding unit; determining whether to perform the chroma residual scaling to the residual samples of the chroma components according to the first CBF, the second CBF, and the third syntax element; in accordance with a determination to perform the chroma residual scaling to the residual samples of the first and second chroma components, scaling the residual samples of the at least one of the first and second chroma components based on a corresponding scaling parameter.

The method comprises: receiving, from a bitstream, a first control flag that indicates merge mode with motion vector difference (MMVD) is enabled for one or more coding units in a video sequence; receiving a first syntax from the video data that identifies a set of motion vector difference (MVD) offsets from a plurality sets of MVD offsets; receiving, a second control flag corresponding to a respective coding unit of the one or more coding units, which indicates the MMVD is applied to the coding unit; receiving a second syntax that selects an MVD offset from the identified set of MVD offsets, and a third syntax that selects an MVD direction; forming MVD based on the selected MVD offset and MVD direction; and reconstructing the coding unit by applying the formed MVD to generate motion vectors to the coding unit.

摘要: Methods and devices for video coding are provided. In the method, the device determines, for a current luma transform block in a coding unit, whether an intra subpartition (ISP) split type is an ISP mode. In response to determining that the intra subpartition split type is not the ISP mode, the device determines a first context index for a Coded Block Flag (CBF) flag of the current luma transform block as being equal to zero or one, where the CBF flag specifies whether the current luma transform block comprises one or more transform coefficient levels not equal to zero. In response to determining that the intra subpartition split type is the ISP mode, the device determines the first context index based on a CBF variable of a previous luma transform unit in the coding unit.

摘要: Implementations of the disclosure provide a video decoding apparatus and method for transform coefficient sign prediction on a video decoder side. The method may include selecting a set of candidate transform coefficients from dequantized transform coefficients. The method may include applying a template-based hypothesis generation scheme to select a hypothesis from a plurality of candidate hypotheses for the set of candidate transform coefficients. The method may include determining a combination of sign candidates associated with the selected hypothesis to be a set of predicted signs for the set of candidate transform coefficients. The method may include estimating original signs for the set of candidate transform coefficients based on the set of predicted signs and a sequence of sign signaling bits received from a video encoder. The method may include updating the dequantized transform coefficients based on the estimated original signs for the set of candidate transform coefficients.

摘要: A method for video encoding is provided. The method includes: generating an inter prediction of a current coding block based on at least one motion vector from a current picture to at least one reference picture respectively; generating an intra prediction of the current coding block based on an intra prediction mode; generating a final prediction of the current coding block by weighted averaging the inter prediction and the intra prediction; determining the current coding block is treated as inter mode upon constructing a most probable mode (MPM) list of a neighboring coding block, or determining the current coding block is treated as intra mode upon constructing an MPM list of a neighboring coding block; and putting entropy-encoded information indicating that the current coding block is treated as inter mode or intra mode in a bitstream to be transmitted to a decoder.
