    摘要： A lightweight, compact image projection module, especially for mounting in a housing having a light-transmissive window, is operative for causing selected pixels in a raster pattern to be illuminated to produce an image of high resolution of VGA quality in color. The brightness of the illuminated pixels is enhanced by combining constituent laser beams of the same wavelength. The contrast of the illuminated pixels is improved by sweeping a composite beam across a polarized screen, and by making the polarizations of all the constituent laser beams of the composite beam the same.

    摘要： An integrated optical communication and barcode scanning module suitable for use with portable electronic devices is provided. In a first mode of operation the module functions as an Infrared Data Association (IrDA) compatible communications interface. In a second mode of operation, IrDA communications is disabled, and the module functions as a barcode scanner. The module may be switched back and forth between the two modes of operation or operated simultaneously.

    摘要： An arrangement for improving performance of a sensor operative for collecting light from a target to generate a data signal in a presence of ambient light, includes a sample and hold circuit for operating the sensor during a sampling time period in which the sensor only collects the ambient light to generate an ambient signal, and during a holding time period in which the sensor collects both the ambient light and the light from the target to generate a composite signal comprised of the ambient signal and the data signal; and a subtracting circuit operative for subtracting the ambient signal from the composite signal to produce the data signal as an output.
