    摘要: A signal-seeking radio receiver is provided which utilizes a single crystal to establish a reference frequency and digital selection means coupled thereto, for selecting a plurality of predetermined and programmed frequencies from the plurality of frequencies in the high frequency (HF), the very high frequency (VHF) and the ultra high frequency (UHF) radio bands that are monitored for broadcast signals on those predetermined frequencies. All of these predetermined frequencies are scanned and, when one of said plurality of predetermined frequencies carries a broadcast signal thereon, the receiver is operable to broadcast that signal in its entirety. The receiver relies upon a singular antenna configuration for reception of all frequencies in the three bands. The absence of a signal on one of the predetermined frequencies allows the receiver and the digital selection circuits therein to rapidly and continually scan the predetermined frequencies in any or all of the three radio bands until one of the predetermined frequencies contains such a signal.

    摘要: A method of remotely managing a fielded device with a device management system (DMS). Via a processor, a DMS directive can be received on the fielded device. The DMS directive can include at least one system command for a DMS agent instantiated on the fielded device and intelligence information not previously stored on the fielded device that is necessary for the DMS agent to interpret the system command. Via the processor the DMS agent can be executed to process the system command using the intelligence information provided in the DMS directive to implement the system command without requiring an update to computer-readable program code that defines the DMS agent.

The base alternatively supports an open beverage container standing upright. The base is connected by one or more columns to a top member forming a carrying handle whereon are mounted a plurality of retainers for securely retaining inverted stemmed glasses, thus providing all items necessary for a comprehensive beverage service.

    摘要: Exhaust air from a clothes dryer is dried in an air treatment unit and returned to the dryer. The air treatment unit is manually portable and separate from the dryer. Air is circulated through the air treatment unit by means of the dryer fan. The dryer heating mechanism can be deactivated so that drying is effected by very dry, unheated air. Recirculation fans can be provided in the treatment unit for recirculating air a number of times through each compartment.

    摘要: A method and system for validating components during a booting process of a computing device are described herein. The method can include the steps of detecting a power up signal and in response to detecting the power up signal, progressively determining whether software components of the computing device are valid. If the software components are determined to be valid, the computing device may be permitted to move to an operational state. If, however, at least some of the software components are determined to be not valid, the computing device may be prevented from moving to the operational state. In one arrangement, if the computing device is prevented from moving to the operational state, corrective action can be taken in an effort to permit the computing device to move to the operational state.

    摘要: A method of selecting an access point to provide communication network presence to a communication device. The method can include detecting a plurality of access points and performing scans of the detected access points over each of a plurality of period windows to detect short-term attributes and long-term attributes associated with each detected access point. When a new scan of the detected access points is performed over a new period window, an oldest set of short-term attributes can be purged from a prior period window. The short-term attributes, the long-term attributes and a time-invariant attribute can be processed for each of the access points to rank the access points in terms of priority. An access point having the highest priority can be selected to be the access point to provide the communication network presence to the communication device.
