Interconnects 21 are formed by a first portion 22 and a second portion 23 which form a mechanical connection via magnetic attraction. First 22 and second 23 portions can be quickly coupled and decoupled and contain all the advantages of magnetic couplings, including ease of connection and simplicity of design.

    摘要: A quick release buckle for securing both an electrical connection and a mechanical coupling includes a multiple pin male portion of an electrical connector. The buckle also includes means for receiving the male portion of an electrical connector to form an electrical connection, a first protective housing containing one of the multiple pin male portion and the means for receiving the multiple pin male portion and capable of insertion, and a second protective housing containing one of the means for receiving the male portion and the multiple pin male portion. The second protective housing is capable of receiving the first protective housing to form a mechanical coupling. In addition, the first and second protective housings include at least one quick-release mechanism for fastening and decoupling the buckle.

    摘要: There is provided a skin engageable, electrode assembly for making selectable contact with the skin. The electrode facilitates the selective collection of electrical data and/or provides selective electrical stimulation. The electrode includes a conductive element, preferably of fabric construction, a semi-fluid conductive layer surrounding the conductive element, a cover preferably made of a perforated fabric or other porous material cell, and one or more temperature sensitive wires embedded in the cover that constrict when heated to cause the semi-liquid conductive layer to permeate the cover via the pores to engage the skin for electrical communication. When the wires cool, they loosen causing the semi-fluid conductive layer to be reabsorbed within the cover to prevent electrical communication with the skin.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for reducing the level of power consumption in an electronic device when the electronic device is operating in a standby mode or low-power mode. The level of power consumption is reduced by alternately shutting off standby power and turning on standby power to the electronic device. A standby cycle timer circuit is provided for automatically controlling the supply of standby power to the electronic device during standby mode. The standby cycle timer circuit becomes inactive when the electronic device resumes normal operation.
