摘要： A method and apparatus for placement of a doctor blade bar against an ink dispensing roller utilizes doctor blade supporting base bodies which have resiliently supported doctor blades and which are shiftable between rest and work positions along doctor blade base support beams by blade base shifting devices. The doctor blades are moved into engagement with the screen roller along a curved path. The resilient support of the doctor blades eliminates blade warping and possible damage to the working edge of the blades.

摘要： A short inking system for an offset web-fed rotary printing press utilizes a chambered doctor blade which contacts the lower periphery of the screen roller. A dampening system is situated interiorly of the plate cylinder. The axes of rotation of the screen cylinder and of the ink application cylinder are located on a first plane while the axes of the ink application cylinder and the plate cylinder are located on a second plane. The two planes intersect at the axis of rotation of the ink application cylinder and are inclined at an angle between 30.degree. and 60.degree. to the vertical.

摘要： An ink transfer roller assembly which is usable to evaluate the smearing behavior of ink on a print carrier utilizes a central disk having a resilient oleophilic periphery and two side disks of smaller radii. The oleophilic surface is pressed against a freshly printed surface and is rolled off the printed area. Ink retained by the resilient roller is transferred to the previously uninked surface and is evaluated for ink smearing.

摘要： A dampening system for a printing press uses a dampening fluid spray system to apply dampening fluid to a first of several serially arranged transfer rollers. The dampening fluid is carried by these transfer rollers to a dampening forme roller and then to a plate cylinder. The surfaces of the dampening forme roller and the several transfer rollers after the first such transfer roller are oleophilic. Spaced levers adjustably support several of the transfer rollers and the dampening forme roller.
