    Abstract: A communication method includes a terminal device having a dual-card function that obtains, passing through a target section and from a network device, network status information of the target section through which the terminal device is about to pass, and determines, in advance based on the network status information, a target subscriber identity module (SIM) card used when the terminal device passes through the target section. Subsequently, before or when the terminal device passes through the target section, the terminal device can switch to the target SIM card in advance for communication.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a grant-free uplink transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: determining, based on received configuration information, a target grant-free transmission area and a target air interface transmission parameter corresponding to the target grant-free transmission area, where the target grant-free transmission area is an air interface time-frequency resource formed by using a specified time range and frequency range, and the configuration information includes at least one grant-free transmission area and an air interface transmission parameter corresponding to each grant-free transmission area; and sending uplink data to a base station based on the target grant-free transmission area and the target air interface transmission parameter. In this application, it can be provided that the base station can correctly receive the uplink data.

    Abstract: A network slice selection method, a radio access device, and a terminal, where the method includes obtaining, by a radio access network (RAN) device, network slice information, sending, by the RAN device, a first message to a terminal, where the first message includes the network slice information, receiving, by the RAN device, a first access request message from the terminal after the terminal selects, based on the network slice information, first attribute information of a first network slice to be accessed by the terminal, and selecting, by the RAN device based on the first attribute information of the first network slice, a second network slice to be accessed by the terminal. The method enables an operator to flexibly configure a network slice, and reduces a communication latency and signaling overheads in a process in which a terminal selects a network slice.

    Abstract: This application relates to the wireless communications field, and discloses a random access method and apparatus, to resolve a problem of how a terminal device selects an uplink to perform random access. The method includes: selecting, by a terminal device, a first uplink from at least two preconfigured uplinks to perform random access; and selecting, by the terminal device when random access performed by using the first uplink fails, a second uplink from the at least two uplinks to perform random access, where the at least two uplinks are communications links between the terminal device and a first network device, the first network device and the terminal device are located in a same cell, the first uplink is a normal uplink NUL, and the second uplink is a supplementary uplink SUL. In this way, the terminal device selects an uplink to perform random access.

The method includes: sending, by a first base station, information about a backhaul requirement of the first base station to a controller; obtaining, by the first base station, information about a codebook from the controller, where the information about the codebook is determined based on the backhaul requirement of the first base station; and performing, by the first base station, backhaul transmission with a gateway by using the codebook. Information about a codebook used in backhaul transmission is determined based on a backhaul requirement of a base station, so that backhaul requirements of different base stations can be met, and a backhaul capacity of a system is increased.
