Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a system for adjusting a deployment location of a virtual machine in order resolve a problem that an inter-node communication cost has excessively great impact on an adjustment result in an existing solution for adjusting a deployment location of a virtual machine in a cloud computing system, the inter-node communication cost is corrected according to technical solutions provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure. Consequently, not only a corrected inter-node communication cost can exert impact on the result for adjusting a deployment location of a virtual machine, but also communication traffic can play a major role in affecting the adjustment result. Therefore, a more appropriate result for adjusting a deployment location of a virtual machine can be obtained, and bandwidth consumption inside the cloud computing system can be reduced.

Abstract: A flow table management method, devices, and systems. The flow table management method includes: generating, by a software defined network controller, a first flow table entry, where a first field set in the first flow table entry carries an index of an actual value in the first field set, and the first field set includes N fields; and sending, by the software defined network controller, an OpenFlow protocol message to an OpenFlow switch, where the OpenFlow protocol message carries the first flow table entry. The technical solution in the embodiments of the present invention helps reduce a data volume of flow table entries delivered by an SDN controller to an OpenFlow switch, thereby reducing overheads of a control channel to reduce a congestion risk of the control channel, and reducing occupied network processing resources of the SDN controller and the OpenFlow switch to deliver the flow table entries.

Abstract: A packet tunneling method, a switching device, and a control device are provided. The method includes: a switching device receives a tunnel flow table entry delivered by the control device, where the tunnel flow table entry is used to determine a to-be-tunneled packet and indicate a tunneling operation to be performed on the to-be-tunneled packet; determines according to the tunnel flow table entry, whether the received first packet is the to-be-tunneled packet; and when the first packet is the to-be-tunneled packet, and tunnels the first packet according to the tunnel flow table entry. Because the switching device supports a tunnel flow table, when a packet is transmitted in a mobile packet network by using the OpenFlow protocol, tunnel encapsulation or decapsulation can be performed on the packet by using the tunnel flow table entry delivered by the control device, thereby enhancing a packet processing capability in the mobile packet network.

Abstract: In an OPENFLOW communication method an action that needs to be transferred and sent by the service gateway is received, one appropriate virtual switch is selected according to the action and a network topology, a flow table is delivered to the service gateway and the virtual switch, and a first data channel is established between the service gateway and the virtual switch to forward a packet, a flow table including an extended action is delivered to the virtual switch so as to execute a related extended action on the packet, the packet is obtained after the virtual switch executes the related extended action is sent to a destination server. Accordingly, some data processing services are transferred to a virtual server when a processing capability of a service gateway is insufficient such that the virtual service implements load balance among network elements in a system.
