摘要： Gas generated from an inflator flows into a first portion of a main bag and each part of an inner bag, and the first portion is inflated toward an area in front of passenger's seat. Then, the gas filling the first portion which has been inflated flows into a second portion of the main bag. In this situation, the inflation direction of the second portion is more downward than the inflation direction of the first portion. As a result, a speed of backward inflation is decreased.

摘要： A tool holder has a main sleeve to be attached to a tapered bore of a spindle of a machine tool, and a subholder which is coupled with the main sleeve and to which a tool is attached. The tapered shank of the main sleeve is inserted into the tapered bore of the spindle having a taper of 7/24. The main sleeve has a tapered hole having a taper of 1/10. A tapered sleeve which is elastically deformable in the radial direction is fitted onto the outer circumference surface of a shank portion of a subholder body of the subholder. The subholder is coupled with the main sleeve such that the outer circumferential surface of the tapered sleeve having a taper of 1/10 intimately contacts the circumferential surface of the tapered hole and the rear end surface of a flange of the subholder body intimately contacts the forward end surface of the main sleeve. This structure prevents the generation of vibrations during machining. Also, the tool holder makes it possible to efficiently machine a workpiece at high speed, and to increase the durability of the tool and the spindle.

摘要： An airbag safety module for automotive vehicles is provided. This module includes a box-like cover and a housing. The cover incorporates therein an airbag, an inflator, and an airbag control unit and has a plurality of openings formed in its side wall. The housing includes a base wall on which the airbag and the inflator are mounted and a side wall having thereon a plurality of protrusions engageble with the openings of the cover, respectively to complete the airbag safety module. Each of the protrusions is shaped to allow the housing to be inserted into the cover in an assembling direction of completing the airbag safety module to engage one of the openings of the cover while restricting the cover from being disengaged from the housing in a disassembling direction opposite to the assembling direction.

摘要： A collision sensing system for a side air bag system has a door opening state detector and an air bag actuation inhibiter. The side air bag system is provided with an air bag which is confined in a side door of a vehicle and inflated and expanded in a space between an occupant of the vehicle and the inner side wall of the compartment such as the side door when a collision detector detects a vehicle collision. The air bag actuation inhibiter inhibits the inflation of the air bag when the door opening state detector detects the open state of the side door.

摘要： An optical information reading apparatus for optically reading information recorded on a recording medium with a laser light beam emitted from a light source. The apparatus comprises a hologram device for receiving at its center portion a laser light beam. The hologram diffracts the received light so as to produce a first diffracted light beam and is arranged to receive at its entire surface light to be reflected from the recording medium and to diffract the received light so as to produce a second diffracted light beam. This hologram device is arranged to be driven by a motor so as to move the first diffracted light beam for a scanning operation. Also included in the reading apparatus is a reflection assembly for reflecting the first diffracted light beam from the hologram device toward the recording medium and further for reflecting light reflected from the recording medium toward substantially the entire surface of the hologram device whereby the hologram device produces the second diffracted light beam. The second diffracted light beam is directed to a light-receiving device which in turn performs a photoelectric conversion in accordance with the intensity of the received light beam to read the information recorded on the recording medium. This arrangement allows the size-reduction of the apparatus concurrently with accurately reading out the information.

摘要： A drive control device for a seat in a vehicle has a driver entry detection unit, a battery capacity detection unit, a seat drive unit, and a controlling circuit unit for generating a seat drive control signal. The controlling circuit unit has a function of deciding whether or not the capacity of the battery is lower than a predetermined reference value when an entry is detected by the entry detection unit, a function of prohibiting the driving of the seat when the decision of the battery capacity decision function is affirmative, and a function of effecting the driving of the seat when the decision of the battery capacity decision function is negative. The controlling circuit unit can provide a door opening degree monitoring function and a rear monitoring function.

摘要： A rotary seat for a vehicle has a seat cushion member rotably supported on a support shaft vertically mounted on the vehicle floor. Driving apparatus is connected to the seat cushion member for automatically rotating the seat cushion member between a direction toward the front of the vehicle and a direction toward a side door of the vehicle when the seat cushion member is not occupied. Disconnecting equipment is included for disconnecting the driving apparatus from the seat cushion member to allow the seat cushion member to be manually rotated when the seat cushion member is occupied. Control devices are provided for controlling the driving apparatus and the disconnecting equipment to place the seat cushion member in an automatic rotating mode or a manual rotating mode depending upon whether the seat is occupied.
