Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, first electrodes, lines, pixel electrodes, a display functional layer, a common electrode, second electrodes, and a controller. The first electrodes are opposed to the second electrodes with a space therebetween, and an insulating layer is provided between the common electrode and the first and second electrodes. During the display periods, in response to a control signal from the controller, the pixel electrodes are supplied with a pixel signal through the lines, and the common electrode is supplied with a common signal. During the sensing period, in response to the control signal from the controller, the lines are supplied with a first drive signal to generate a magnetic field. The first electrodes are supplied with a second drive signal to generate electrostatic capacitance between themselves and the second electrodes in response to the control signal from the controller, synchronously or asynchronously with the display periods.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device with a touch detection function includes: a display region; a plurality of drive electrodes; a control device; a touch detection electrode that is opposed to the drive electrodes and forms capacitance with respect to the drive electrodes; power supply wiring arranged in a frame region positioned outside the display region; and a plurality of drive electrode scanning units that select the drive electrode to be coupled to the power supply wiring. When the drive electrode scanning unit simultaneously selects the drive electrodes of which number is equal to or larger than the number of pieces of the power supply wiring, the control device supplies a touch driving signal that is multiplexed based on a certain code to each of the selected drive electrodes.

Abstract: A performance of a display device having an input device is improved. A display device includes: an electro-optical layer; a first driving electrode and a second driving electrode which drives the electro-optical layer; a driver chip which outputs a video signal; a switch circuit which is arranged outside the driver chip, which selects a potential to be supplied to the second driving electrode, and which includes a first switch element and a second switch element; a shift register circuit connected to the switch circuit; and a detection circuit which detects that an object is close or in contact. Each of the first switch element and the second switch element is selectively turned ON or OFF by the shift register circuit. The detection circuit is electrically connected to the first switch element and the second switch element.

Abstract: A display device includes a display region, a peripheral region outside the display region, a control circuit, driving circuits, a clock line connecting the control circuit to one of the driving circuits and in which a first clock signal is supplied, and another clock line connecting the control circuit to the other of the driving circuits and in which a second clock signal is supplied. A light shielding layer includes extension portions each extending along a Y direction, and bent portions between the extension portions. A length of one of the extension portions is longer than a length of the other of the extension portions. In plan view, one of the bent portions overlaps with one of the clock lines, and the other of the bent portions is located between termination portions of the clock lines.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes: a plurality of pixels aligned in row and column directions, each of the pixels including a drive element; a plurality of scan lines each coupled with the drive elements included in the pixels aligned in the row direction to transmit thereto a scan signal for selecting the pixels row by row; a plurality of signal lines each coupled with the drive elements included in the pixels aligned in the column direction to write display data; and a display control unit. The display control unit alternately repeats a display period and a stop period. In a latter term of the stop period, display control unit provides the display data written in the respective pixels in a row that has been selected during the display period immediately before the stop period, to the signal lines corresponding to the respective pixels.
