    摘要： A rotation control apparatus which can maintain an accurate rotating state even in a high density optical disk (DVD) having a structure such that parts of the sync signal are recorded at an interval different from that of the other sync signal parts. The apparatus has: a unit period signal generator for generating a period signal of a unit period; a pre-pit detector for detecting a pre-pit from the DVD; a phase difference detector for detecting a phase difference between the detection timing of the pre-pit and the unit period signal; and a holding circuit for holding the phase difference detected. The rotation of the DVD is controlled on the basis of the phase difference held at the holding circuit.

The recording apparatus controls recording the record information, and determines whether or not the record information is to be encrypted based upon the first identification information and the second identification information. The reproducing apparatus controls outputting the record information based upon the first identification information and whether the record information has been encrypted or not.

    摘要： An apparatus for recording first information onto a recording medium, successively to second information that has been already recorded on the recording medium is provided. The first and second information are divided into a plurality of blocks. Each block includes a synchronization signal. This signal is located at a predetermined position in each block. A plurality of pre-pits are pre-formed on the recording medium at intervals of the predetermined length or an integer times the predetermined length. A reference signal with a predetermined frequency is pre-recorded on the recording medium. The apparatus has: a write clock signal generating device for generating a write clock signal on the basis of the reference signal; a pre-pit detecting device for detecting the pre-pits and outputting a pre-pit signal at a first timing, which is equal to a timing that each pre-pit is detected; a synchronization signal generating device for generating the synchronization signal and outputting the synchronization signal at a second timing synchronized with the write clock signal, and which is set so as to place the synchronization signal at the predetermined position in each block; a time relationship detecting device for detecting a time relationship between the pre-pit signal and the synchronization signal; a shifting device for shifting a phase of the write clock signal so as to make the detected time relationship equal to a predetermined time relationship; and a recording device for recording the first information and the synchronization signal onto the recording medium in accordance with the second timing.

    摘要： A clock signal generating system of the present invention is provided for recording information on a disc. The disc has a plurality of recording tracks wobbled by a wobble signal having a predetermined frequency and a plurality of prepits disposed at positions having a predetermined phase relation with respect to a phase of the wobble signal. A clock signal is generated based on the wobble signal. A prepit signal is produced from the prepit. The phase of the wobble signal is compared with a phase of the prepit signal, thereby generating a phase adjusting signal. The phase of the clock signal is adjusted based on the phase adjusting signal. A recording clock signal for recording the information is produced by an adjusted clock signal.
