摘要： A liquid container for a liquid jet recording apparatus includes a first chamber containing negative pressure producing material and having a liquid outlet. At a lower part of the cartridge and contactable to the liquid jet head, the liquid container supplies liquid from the cartridge to the liquid jet head. An air vent allows ambient air into the cartridge. A second chamber communicates with the first chamber by means of a communication part, except for which the second chamber is substantially hermetically sealed. The second chamber is disposed at the lower part of the cartridge and provides a liquid reservoir for the first chamber. Ambient air is introduced through an air path substantially free of negative pressure producing material, having an inlet in the first chamber separated from the air vent by the negative pressure producing material, and an outlet arranged to be lower than the inlet during use of the cartridge to enable air to be supplied to the second chamber through the negative pressure producing material and the air path as liquid is withdrawn from the liquid outlet.

摘要： An ink-tank cartridge has a first storage chamber housing a negative pressure generating member and having an atmosphere communicating portion communicated with the atmosphere, a second storage chamber in substantially enclosed condition and communicated with the first storage chamber only through a fine communicating portion located remote from said atmosphere communicating portion, and directly storing an ink to be supplied to the first storage chamber, the second storage chamber being arranged adjacent the first storage chamber; and an enclosed ink storage portion only communicated with the second storage chamber and located at respective side surfaces of the first and second storage chambers. The bottom surface of the enclosed ink storage portion is located at higher position than the bottom surface of the first and second storage chambers.

摘要： The present invention provides an ink-jet head and an ink-jet apparatus using the ink-jet head. The liquid-ink-contacting sections of the ink-jet head are sealed with a moisture-curing sealant essentially consisting of a silicone-modified organic polymer compound. In the molecular structure, the silicone-modified organic polymer compound has carbon atoms modified with alkoxysilane. The moisture-curing sealant contains an organo-tin or organo-titanium catalyst having the alkoxy and/or carboxyl groups, the alkyl chain of the alkoxy group has 5 or fewer carbon atoms, and the alkyl chain of the carboxyl group has 6 or fewer carbon atoms.

摘要： An ink jet head for ejecting ink, has an ink ejecting portion having an ink ejecting port formed thereon so as to eject ink through the ink ejecting port, a positioning portion for definitely determining the position of the ink jet head relative to an apparatus using the ink jet head when the ink jet head is fitted to the apparatus, an ink supplying portion adapted to be connected an ink supplying unit while ink is supplied to the ink jet head, and an electric connecting portion adapted to be electrically connected to an electric connecting portion on the apparatus side so as to send and receive signals. The positioning portion, the ink supplying portion and the electric connecting portion are disposed on a different surface from a surface on which the ink ejecting portion is disposed and at least one of the electric portion and the ink supplying portion is disposed on an opposite side surface to a surface on which the positioning portion is disposed.

摘要： A length of a melamine foamed block to be accommodated in an ink tank housing as measured in the longitudinal direction is dimensioned to be larger than a length of the ink tank housing as measured in the longitudinal direction. Thus, while the foamed block is accommodated in the ink tank housing, it is compressed in the direction orienting toward an ink feeding port from which ink is fed to a printing head, i.e., in the ink feeding direction. Consequently, the ink retaining force induced by the capillary force is not intensified in the compressing direction of the melamine foamed block, resulting in an ink feeding capability of the printing head being improved. On the contrary, the ink retaining force effective at a right angle relative to the compressing direction of the melamine foamed block is intensified.

摘要： A method of making a replaceable ink cartridge uses a molded, one-piece container body with an open bottom, elongated front, back and top walls, two side walls providing major surfaces of the cartridge, and a partition attached to the side walls and extending from the top wall toward the open bottom to divide the container body into first and second compartments. A sponge-like absorbent material is inserted into the second compartment through the open bottom, which is then sealed with a bottom wall, so that the cartridge has first and second chambers communicating with each other through an opening formed by a gap between the partition and the bottom wall.
