摘要: A photographic element comprised of a support having provided thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, the element containing a development inhibitor precursor. The development inhibitor precursor is represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein A represents an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl group or a 5-membered or 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring; R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent; and R.sup.2 represents an organic ballasting group. The element is capable of providing color images having improved image quality particularly with respect to having a low density in the Dmin areas. The photographic element can be processed over a wide range of processing temperatures. Further, the element can be preserved for long periods of time without having a reduction in the density in the Dmax areas.

摘要: A process for preparing an aqueous dispersion of a pigment is disclosed. The process involves providing a surface active agent having a solubility of 0.1% or less in water at a temperature of about 25.degree. C. The agent is also soluble in an organic solvent. The agent is dispersed in water to provide an aqueous dispersion of the agent. The pigment is then dispersed in the aqueous dispersion of the agent to form the aqueous dispersion of the pigment. The dispersion causes less foaming, aggregation and sedimentation of the pigment particles when the dispersion is stored. The dispersion is particularly useful when utilizing carbon black as the pigment and applying the dispersion to the field of photographic materials. The presence of the surface active agent does not have secondary effects on photographic materials.

摘要: A printing apparatus to print an image on a sheet is provided. The printing apparatus includes a photosensitive member, a contiguous member arranged to contact the photosensitive member, and a protection sheet configured to protect the photosensitive member from the contiguous member. The protection sheet is arranged in an intervening position between the photosensitive member and the contiguous member but configured to be removed from the intervening position by a user before using the printing apparatus. The protection sheet interferes with at least one of the user's behavior conducted on the printing apparatus in order to use the printing apparatus and a detecting behavior of a sensor which is arranged in the printing apparatus to detect a condition of the printing apparatus.

摘要: To detect humidity, used are a first series connection circuit connecting a thermistor and a fixed resistor via a node, a second series connection circuit connecting a resistance change type humidity sensor and the thermistor via the node, and a third series connection circuit connecting the humidity sensor and the fixed resistor via the node. A predetermined voltage is applied across the first circuit to detect a first voltage indicating temperature through the node, and secondly across the second circuit to detect a second voltage indicating a first humidity through the node, and finally across the third circuit to detect a third voltage indicating a second humidity through the node. Then, the first voltage is compared with a reference voltage and judgment is made, based on a comparison result, to determine which of the second voltage and the third voltage is relevant to use as a basis for outputting the humidity as detected.

摘要: Provided is a carbon nanotube field effect transistor manufacturing method wherein carbon nanotube field effect transistors having excellent stable electric conduction property are manufactured with excellent reproducibility. After arranging carbon nanotubes to be a channel on a substrate, the carbon nanotubes are covered with an insulating protection film. Then, a source electrode and a drain electrode are formed on the insulating protection film. At this time, a contact hole is formed on the protection film, and the carbon nanotubes are connected with the source electrode and the drain electrode. Then, a wiring protection film, a conductive film and a plasma CVD film are sequentially formed on the insulating protection film, the source electrode and the drain electrode. In the field effect transistor thus manufactured, since the carbon nanotubes to be the channel are not contaminated and not damaged, excellent stable electric conductive property is exhibited.
