    摘要: The present invention involves methods of preparing coated particulates and using such coated particulates in subterranean applications such as production enhancement and sand control. One embodiment of the present invention provides a method of preparing coated particulates comprising the steps of coating particulates with a resin or a tackifying agent to create pre-coated particulates; and, covering the pre-coated particulates with a partitioning agent to create coated particulates. Another embodiment of the present invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation comprising the steps of providing coated particulates made by a method comprising the steps of substantially coating particulates with a resin or a tackifying agent to create pre-coated particulates; and, substantially covering the pre-coated particulates with a partitioning agent to create coated particulates; substantially slurrying the coated particulates in a servicing fluid to create a coated particulate slurry; and, placing the coated particulate slurry into the subterranean formation.

The curable resin composition comprises a solid curable resin particulate, a curing agent, and a silane coupling agent. The proppant slurry is introduced into a fracture within a subterranean formation and thereafter solid curable resin particulate softens so as to coat the proppant particulates and then is cured so as to consolidate the proppant particulates into a permeable proppant pack.

    摘要: The present invention involves methods of using particulates coated with a tackifying agent that need not be used immediately once they are prepared and that provide increased viscosity when placed into an aqueous fluid. The described methods include the steps of contacting particulates with a tackifying agent to create tackified particulates; contacting the tackified particulates with a partitioning agent to form coated particulates that are capable of being stored for a time period, wherein the partitioning agent comprises a hydratable polymeric material; and, placing the coated particulates in an aqueous treatment fluid whereby the partitioning agent hydrates and increases the viscosity of the treatment fluid.

In one embodiment, a method of treating a subterranean formation includes coating a curable adhesive composition comprising a silane coupling agent and a polymer having a reactive silicon end group onto proppant material; suspending the coated proppant material in a carrier fluid to form a proppant slurry; introducing the proppant slurry into a subterranean formation; and allowing the curable adhesive composition to at least partially consolidate the proppant material in the subterranean formation.

In one embodiment, the methods comprise: providing a first treatment fluid, a second treatment fluid, and a consolidating agent; injecting the first treatment fluid into the subterranean formation at a pressure sufficient to create one or more fractures in the subterranean formation; injecting the second treatment fluid into the subterranean formation to increase the permeability of at least a portion of the subterranean formation comprising at least a portion of the one or more fractures; and injecting the consolidating agent into a portion of the subterranean formation in an amount sufficient to at least partially stabilize at least a portion of the subterranean formation.
