Abstract: Methods of fracturing a subterranean formation include introducing a fracturing fluid containing an aqueous medium, a viscosifying agent and a polyethylene oxide alkyl ether through a wellbore and into the subterranean formation, pressurizing the fracturing fluid to fracture the subterranean formation, and allowing the fracturing fluid to flow back into the wellbore from the subterranean formation. The polyethylene oxide alkyl ether useful in some embodiments is defined according to the formula:
where R1 and R2 are independently selected from linear or branched alkyl groups having from 2 to 16 carbon atoms, and ‘n’ may be a value selected from within a range of from 1 to 100.-

Abstract: Hydraulic fracturing fluids include an aqueous fluid, an acrylamide-based polymers, and a hyperbranched crosslinker that crosslinks the acrylamide-based polymer to form a crosslinked gel. The hyperbranched crosslinker includes a hyperbranched polyethyleneimine polyoxiranylalkanol having a weight-average molecular weight from 10 kDa to 1500 kDa. The hyperbranched crosslinker may be a product of reacting a hyperbranched polyethyleneimine with an oxiranylalkanol to obtain the hyperbranched polyethyleneimine polyoxiranylalkanol. In examples, the oxiranylalkanol is glycidol. Methods for preparing the hydraulic fracturing fluids and methods for treating subterranean formations with the hydraulic fracturing fluids are disclosed.

Abstract: Methods of preparing a crosslinked hydraulic fracturing fluid include combining a hydraulic fracturing fluid comprising a polyacrylamide polymer with a plurality of coated proppants. The plurality of coated proppants include a proppant particle and a resin proppant coating on the proppant particle. The resin proppant coating includes resin and a zirconium oxide crosslinker. The resin includes at least one of phenol, furan, epoxy, urethane, phenol-formaldehyde, polyester, vinyl ester, and urea aldehyde. Methods further include allowing the zirconium oxide crosslinker within the resin proppant coating to crosslink the polyacrylamide polymer within the hydraulic fracturing fluid at a pH of at least 10, thereby forming the crosslinked hydraulic fracturing fluid.
