摘要: An apparatus automatically recommends content. A preference operation history managing unit generates history information of an operation relating to a preference for a content according to a plurality of operations relating to a preference for the content and explanation information relating to the content and using preference value parameters for each kind of these operations. A preference information managing unit generates and renews preference information including preference values in which a given preference value is based on a combination of a given keyword and a preference value for that keyword. A content recommending unit calculates a preference degree for the content according to the preference information and the explanation information with respect to the content and recommends at least a portion of the content according to the preference degree.

摘要: The present invention is relative with a reproducing apparatus and a receiving apparatus for affording the impression or evaluation in line with the intention of a content supplier to the audience. The reproducing apparatus reproduces an optical disc (1) in which the contents and the estimated evaluation values are recorded at the outset. The estimated evaluation values recorded on the optical disc (1) have been set by the content supplier based on estimated impression or evaluation by the audience on the content. As the reproducing apparatus reproduces the content, the apparatus measures the reaction of the audience by a reaction value inputting unit (61), calculates the impression or evaluation by the audience for the content by a recognition evaluation value calculating unit (63) and compares the recognized evaluation values to the estimated evaluation values read out from the optical disc (1) in a control evaluation value calculating unit (53). Based on the results of comparison, a system controller (7) changes the picture brightness or the sound level in subsequent scenes or shots to vary the site or sequence of reproduction of the optical disc (1) to change the ensuing story development. The estimated evaluation values and/or the content can be received by a receiving apparatus over a communication network.

摘要: An automatic keyword extraction apparatus includes a first extraction unit operable to extract a first keyword from title character string information of contents using a first keyword dictionary in which a character string designating a sub-genre is registered; and a second extraction unit operable to extract a second keyword from detailed character string information of the contents using a second keyword dictionary in which names of persons are registered, the extraction of the second keyword being performed utilizing a character type separation method. In this manner, it is possible for a user to extract a keyword for searching contents automatically, efficiently and accurately from the title character string information and detailed character string information of the contents such as EPG information even in home electric appliances in which the throughput capacity or the memory capacity of the CPU is not so large.

摘要: The present invention is intended to provide an apparatus and a method for realizing the presentation of a content list and the reproduction of content in accordance with proper user preference on the basis of date and time at which content is viewed. Content preference values that change with time are computed. On the basis of the computed content preference values, a content list is generated for presentation to the user. For example, preference values are computed on the basis of daily time zone, holiday, weekday, and day-of-the-week and a content list in accordance with the computed preference values is generated for presentation to the user. The novel configuration allows the presentation of an optimum content list on the basis of date and time at which content is viewed, thereby realizing the selection and viewing of content that properly reflects user preference.

摘要: Information to be stored is input to a plurality of information carrier storage means that interact with each other. A unit amount of information carriers is added to a position selected from the information carrier storage means, and nonlinear diffusion of information carriers is executed from the selected information carrier storage means to its neighboring information carrier storage means, and at the same time, nonlinear dissipation is executed from the information carrier storage means. At that time, the dissipation amount is determined so that the amount adding the difference between the amount of addition and the amount of dissipation to the input representation does not exceed a predetermined threshold value. When equilibrium is confirmed as a result of judgement whether changes in amount of information carriers of each information carrier storage means has become small or not, the amount of information carriers stored in the information carrier storage means is output as a numerical value.

摘要: To provide a removable disk drive which can discharge static electricity with which a recording disk is charged, which does not produce noise and metal powder when a spindle motor shaft is rotated, and the electric power consumption of which is small. A removable disk drive 10 is provided with an electrostatic brush 5 disposed between a spindle motor shaft 1 and a housing 4 and formed of a conductive material. When operation of inserting a recording disk 6 in the removable disk drive 10 is on the way, the electrostatic brush 5 is in contact with the spindle motor shaft 1 and the housing 4 to discharge static electricity with which the recording disk 6 is charged to the housing 4 through the spindle motor shaft 1 and the electrostatic brush 5. After the recording disk 6 is completely inserted in the removable disk drive 10, the electrostatic brush 5 is out of contact with the spindle motor shaft 1 to prevent noise and metal powder from being produced when the spindle motor shaft 1 is rotated.

摘要: A stencil printer includes a hollow cylindrical, porous ink drum freely rotatable. A multistage paper feeding device includes a plurality of paper stacking portions and capable of feeding papers of particular size from each paper stacking portion. At least one pair of side fences are mounted on each paper stocking portion for positioning the papers in the widthwise direction of the papers. A rack is positioned to stack the papers or printings each carrying a printed image thereon. An ink drum shifting device shifts the ink drum in the widthwise direction of the papers perpendicular to the direction of conveyance of the papers. A rack shifting device shifts the rack in the widthwise direction of the papers. A storing device stores the position of a center line of a paper transport path for each of the paper stocking portions. A control section controls the operation of the ink drum shifting device and that of the rack shifting device in accordance with the position of the center line stored in the storing device.
