摘要: A detection signal representing changes of an object observed can be easily transmitted to any desirable site, without performing complex adjustment to use the signal. An AE sensor 21 is provided on an appropriate part of the circumferential surface of a rotating-side chuck 4 which holds a workpiece 5. A signal-transmitting unit 101 is provided in a space made in the rotating-side chuck 4. A signal-receiving unit 102 is mounted on an appropriate part of a main section 3 on which the rotating-side chuck 4 is provided. The signal-transmitting unit 101 transmits by radio a detection signal generated by the AE sensor 21. The signal-receiving unit 102 receives and demodulates the detection signal, generating a signal that will be processed in signal processing.

摘要: An improved gas generator apparatus having a compressor, a combustor, and a turbine having a turbine rotor coupled by a rotor shaft to the compressor rotor of the compressor. The combustor is spiral shaped and positioned between the compressor and turbine which allows the direction of flow of air or working gas to remain substantially unchanged from the compressor to the turbine, while maintaining a compact configuration. In operation, air drawn into the compressor is swirled circumferentially and pressurized by the compressor, and then delivered into a combustion chamber while it is being swirled. Air is expanded in the combustion chamber as it is swirled in and along the spirally shaped expansion chamber tube and then flows as a working gas into the turbine in which the gas drives the turbine rotor while the gas is still being swirled in the same direction. The air or working gas, therefore, maintains a swirling flow in one direction from the compressor to the turbine. In one embodiment, the scrolls for the compressor and turbine a compactly located in a normally empty space surrounding the shroud for the rotors of the compressor and turbine. In another embodiment, the separate compressor shroud is eliminated by providing a casing surrounding the spiral combustion expansion tube for receiving compressed air directly into that casing.

摘要: A contrarotating propeller type propulsion system having first and second output rotary cylinders which are carried individually on an outside support cylinder fixedly secured to a first support structure, the first output rotary cylinder being borne on the outer peripheral surface of the first support cylinder through bearings and the second output rotary cylinder borne on the inner peripheral surface of the first support cylinder through bearings. The first and second output rotary cylinders serve to support the first and second contrarotating propellers, respectively. The first and second output rotary cylinders are supported on the first support cylinder at two axially spaced points. The driving shaft is borne on a second support cylinder fixedly secured to the support structure and surrounded by the first support cylinder. The gear reduction mechanism for causing the counter rotation of the propellers is provided within a case that is cooled and lubricated by oil flowing therethrough and also is cooled by an annular air passage around the entire exterior of the case.

摘要: Disclosed is a turbine comprising a turbine wheel, a turbine scroll passage defined in a turbine casing around the turbine wheel for introduction of gas to the turbine wheel, and an axial central passage defined in the turbine casing for ejection of gas from the turbine wheel, wherein: a plurality of variable nozzles are arranged outside of a throat section having a locally minimum cross section which is defined in the turbine casing around the turbine wheel. The variable nozzles may be defined by fixed vanes and moveable vanes which cooperate with each other in such a manner that each of the moveable vanes and the corresponding fixed vane define a substantially smooth and continuous airfoil. The moveable vanes may be pivotally supported by a back plate of the casing while the fixed vanes may be integrally provided with a fixed vane member having a disk portion which defines a surface opposing the inner surface of the back plate. The moveable vanes may rotate along and between these mutually opposing surfaces for varying the cross section of the nozzles defined between the fixed vanes and the moveable vanes.

摘要: An improvement to a process for thermal cracking a heavy hydrocarbon oil comprising (1) a thermal cracking step of the heavy oil which is in contact with a fluidized bed of heated fine particles as a source of the heat required for the thermal cracking and (2) a regeneration step of the fine particles which are withdrawn from the thermal cracking step and on which coke formed during the thermal cracking has deposited, the steps (1) and (2) being practiced while the fine particles are circulated therebetween, is disclosed. The improvement comprises a use as the fine particles of microspheres of a porous material, division of the regeneration step into a gasification section and a combustion section, and restriction in the operation conditions, and an optional temperature control by controlling generation of steam in a cooling means which is installed in the combustion section and whose coolant is water to generate the steam.
