摘要: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing occurrence of flickers. The liquid crystal display device including a first substrate and a second substrate disposed to face each other, and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the liquid crystal layer includes a liquid crystal molecule having positive dielectric anisotropy; the liquid crystal molecule is perpendicularly aligned relative to a surface of the first substrate when no voltage is applied; the first substrate includes a pixel electrode to which an image signal is supplied, a common electrode to which a common signal is supplied, an insulating film, and a lower layer wiring connected to the pixel electrode; the lower layer wiring, the insulating film, and the common electrode are stacked in the stated order towards the liquid crystal layer side; the image signal is supplied to the pixel electrode through the lower wiring; the pixel electrode has a pixel comb-tooth portion; the common electrode has a common comb-tooth portion; the pixel comb-tooth portion and the common comb-tooth portion are planarly disposed to face each other in a pixel; the liquid crystal device has at least two regions having spacings of different lengths between the pixel electrode and the common electrode from each other in the pixel; the lower layer wiring overlaps the common comb-tooth portion and extends along the common comb-tooth portion; and a width of a part of the lower layer wiring which is overlapped with the common comb-tooth portion is substantially the same as or smaller than a width of a part of the common comb-tooth portion which is overlapped with the lower layer wiring.

摘要: A fuel cell separator pair has first and second separators having front and back surfaces, a corrugated plate portion shaped in a wave form at the central portion, and a flat plate portion formed in the peripheral portion and surrounding the corrugated plate portion, wherein the corrugated plate portion of the front surface constitutes a reaction gas channel and the corrugated plate portion of the back surface constitutes a coolant channel. The back surfaces of the first and second separators are facing each other. The flat plate portions of the first and second separators are arranged on top of each other so as to be in contact with each other. The flat plate portion of the second separator protrudes toward the outside beyond the flat plate portion of the first separator. The fuel cell separator pair has a seal member (A) disposed on the flat plate portion of the front surface of the first separator, a seal member (B) disposed on the flat plate portion of the front surface of the second separator, and a seal member (C) disposed on the region protruding beyond the flat plate portion of the first separator in the flat plate portion of the back surface of the second separator.

摘要: A fuel cell comprising: a membrane electrolyte assembly having a polymer electrolyte membrane and a pair of catalyst electrodes, namely an air electrode and a fuel electrode sandwiching the polymer electrolyte membrane; a pair of separators, namely an air electrode separator and a fuel electrode separator sandwiching the membrane electrolyte assembly; two or more oxidizing gas channels running in a certain direction for the purpose of supplying an oxidizing gas to the air electrode; and two or more linear fuel gas channels arranged parallel to the certain direction for the purpose of supplying a fuel gas to the fuel electrode. Large gaps and small gaps are provided alternately between adjacent two oxidizing gas channels along the certain direction, and the fuel gas channels do not overlap portions of the oxidizing gas channels, that are parallel to the fuel gas channels.

摘要: This invention provides a liquid crystal display device which can contribute to the stabilization of alignment of a liquid crystal and can improve the response speed. The liquid crystal display device comprises a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer held between the substrates. At least one of the pair of substrates has a polymer on its surface in contact with the liquid crystal layer. The surface shape of the polymer is in a substantially saw form as viewed from the cross-sectional direction of the substrate. The inclination azimuth of the inclination surface of the polymer is substantially the same as the liquid crystal alignment upon the application of the voltage. Preferably, the surface of the polymer has an approximately wedge shape as viewed from the vertical direction of the substrate, and the azimuth of the apex is approximately opposite to the liquid crystal alignment upon the application of the voltage.

The liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate and a second substrate that are disposed opposite each other; and a liquid crystal layer that is interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, and having, in a pixel area, a reflective area where reflective display is performed and a transmissive area where transmissive display is performed, wherein the first substrate has a first electrode provided in the transmissive area and the reflective area, a second electrode provided in the transmissive area and disposed parallel to and opposite the first electrode inside the pixel area, and a third electrode provided in the reflective area and disposed parallel to and opposite the first electrode inside the pixel area, the liquid crystal layer includes a p-type nematic liquid crystal and is driven by an electric field generated at least one of between the first electrode and the second electrode and between the first electrode and the third electrode, the p-type nematic liquid crystal is aligned perpendicular to the first substrate and the second substrate when no voltage is applied, a distance between the first electrode and the third electrode is different from a distance between the first electrode and the second electrode, and mutually different common signals are input to the second electrode and the third electrode.

摘要: A liquid crystal display panel (2) includes a TFT substrate (20) and a counter substrate (30) placed opposite each other via a liquid crystal layer (40) containing liquid crystal molecules (41) that, when an electric field is applied, makes an alignment transition from an initial state to an image display state different in state of alignment from the initial state. A region (40B) where the liquid crystal molecules come into anti-parallel alignment is provided in that region of at least either the TFT substrate (20) or the counter substrate (30) to which a transverse electric field parallel to a surface of the substrate is applied. This makes it possible to provide a liquid crystal display panel capable of causing each pixel to surely make an alignment transition and making a quick alignment transition from an initial state to an image display state in a liquid crystal layer.
