    摘要: A printer includes a set cover pivotally movably provided on a carriage. The cover can be set in a closed state in which the cover presses a head of the cartridge housed in the housing portion and an open state in which the cover opens the housing portion when the cartridge is replaced. A release lever is subjected to a bias force so as to protrude from an inner wall surface of the housing portion. The release lever is movable against the bias force. The release lever comes into contact with an end of the cartridge which faces the bottom surface when the cartridge is inserted into the housing portion. The release lever contacts the rear surface of the cartridge housed in the housing portion. The bias force is stronger when the cover is in the open state than when the cover is in the closed state.

    摘要: A recording apparatus is configured to record an image on a recording medium by repeating a recording operation and a conveying operation. The recording operation is operative to apply a recording agent to the recording medium using a recording head while moving the recording head for scanning in a direction different from a predetermined direction. The recording head includes a plurality of recording elements arranged in the predetermined direction and adapted to apply the recording agent. The conveying operation is operative to convey the recording medium in a direction transverse to the scanning direction. The recording apparatus includes a recording control unit configured to perform the recording operation such that a number of the recording elements which are used to record an image on at least one of a front end portion and a rear end portion of the recording medium is reduced at a rate as compared to that of the recording elements which are used to record an image on a central portion of the recording medium, and a recording mode selecting unit configured to select a recording mode from a plurality of recording modes differing from one another in at least one of recording quality and recording time. The recording control unit changes the rate of reduction according to the recording mode selected by the recording mode selecting unit.

    摘要: A reliable detection of optically detecting the type of recording media is achieved. A part of a support member for supporting an optical sensor is pushed against the surface of a sheet by a spring so as to maintain the gap between the sensor and the sheet surface. With this arrangement, a recording apparatus which is free from wrong detection is achieved regardless of a gap-varying factor, that is, the remaining amount of sheets. Also, by arranging a part of a light-shielding hood so as to abut against the sheet, wrong detection due to disturbance light can be prevented.

    摘要: A sheet material conveying apparatus is provided with retard levers for supporting a retard roller shaft, which are rotative centering on the central axis of rotation so as to press the retard roller to a conveying roller. Retard pressing springs are hooked to the spring latches of the retard levers, and the hooks of a slider. When the limiter gear of a torque limiter rotates, the tightening force exerted by a stepped spring against an inner race is caused to change, thus changing the rotating-load torque of the retard roller. A motor enables the limiter gear to rotate, while moving the slider up and down. In this way, it is made possible to change the rotating load torque of the retard roller, while changing the pressurized contact force of the retard roller against the conveying roller. With the structure thus arranged, it is attempted to make the life of rollers longer, and to prevent the occurrence of double feeding of sheet material.

    摘要: An ink jet recording apparatus for recording by discharging ink from nozzles of a recording head to a recording medium comprises a figure recording control section for executing recording control of figure draw commands for ruled lines and other figures, and a bitmap recording control section for executing recording control of draw commands other than the figure draw commands by developing bitmaps. For this ink jet recording apparatus, draw commands are individually controlled by the recording control sections, respectively, and at the same time, recording is performed by relatively moving in the intersecting two directions a recording head for discharging ink by the draw commands, and a recording medium held by a recording medium holding unit in the position facing the ink discharge surface of the recording head. With the structure thus arranged, it becomes possible to materialize an ink jet recording apparatus which can output high quality images while neither creating deviating seams of ruled lines to the left or right nor creating black strips or white strips.

    摘要: In a printing apparatus using a plurality of heating elements as printing elements, there are provided CCD elements for storing electric charges whose quantity correspond to temperatures in correspondence to each of the printing elements, and for sequentially transferring these electric charges. As a printing head driving apparatus, an analog shift register having a series of CCD elements is employed in order to perform data transfer operation, data alignment, and driving operations of the respective printing elements. Also, the above-described CCD elements are commonly used with CCD elements for storing and transferring temperature data. As a result, a compact printing apparatus can be made while suppressing shading in images caused by temperature increasing due to the driving operation of the printing elements.
