    摘要: A voltage-current converting converts a voltage signal into a current signal. In an example operation, a source of a transistor is connected to a first power source, the source is connected to an input terminal via a coupling capacitor, and a gate and a drain of the transistor are connected to a second power source so that current flows between the source and the drain while a constant voltage is applied to the input terminal. To output the current signal, the drain is disconnected from the second power source, the voltage signal is supplied from the input terminal to the holding capacitor via the coupling capacitor, the coupling capacitor is disconnected from the input terminal, the gate is disconnected from the second power source, the drain is connected to the second power source, and the source is connected to an output terminal.

    摘要: A voltage-current converting circuit turns on a transistor M1a to give a blanking signal to the gate of a transistor M5a (PMOS transistor) through capacities C1a and C2a, and turns on a transistor M3a with the transistor M5a diode-connected to supply a current from a power source voltage VCC. Next, the voltage-current converting circuit turns off the transistor M3a to intercept the supply of the current, and then resets the capacities C1a and C2a so that the gate of the transistor M5a may take a threshold voltage. Next, the voltage-current converting circuit turns off a transistor M7a to intercept the current path between the drain of the transistor M5a and the ground potential GND. In this state, the voltage-current converting circuit turns on the transistor M5a to give the video signal to the gate of the transistor M5a through the capacities C1a and C2a. Next, the voltage-current converting circuit turns on the transistor M6a to form a current path between the transistor M5a and a signal line data. Then, the voltage-current converting circuit outputs the current generated between the source of the transistor M5a and the drain thereof from the source side to the signal line data.

    摘要: An active matrix display apparatus includes two-dimensionally arranged pixel circuits, each of which includes a display element, and a plurality of signal lines and scanning lines connected to the pixel circuits. Each of the pixel circuits include a drive transistor and a capacitor, with one terminal of the capacitor being connected to a control terminal of the drive transistor and a second terminal of the capacitor being connected to a first main conductive terminal of the drive transistor and a lighting power source. In a writing operation period, a current flowing to the signal line is conducted into the drive transistor, and in a lighting operation period, a current conducting in the drive transistor is injected into the display element. At a time during the writing operation period, a potential of the lighting power source is changed toward a potential of the signal line to depress the current conducting in the drive transistor and is kept for a period, during which the current conducting in the drive transistor partially recovers from the depression. After the writing operation period, the potential of the lighting power source is restored.

    摘要: A display apparatus includes a display area, in which pixels each including an EL device and a pixel circuit are arranged in a matrix on a substrate, and a column control circuit for controlling the pixel circuit column by column. The EL device is disposed between a lower pixel electrode and an upper transparent electrode on the substrate. The pixel electrode is electrically connected to the pixel circuit, and the transparent electrode is electrically connected to a common interconnecting line via a contact hole. The contact hole and the common interconnecting line are disposed to surround a periphery of the display area. The column control circuit is divided into two circuits one of which is disposed between the contact hole and the display area and the other of which is disposed outside the area between the contact hole and the display area.

In the contact hole, a common voltage line and a transparent electrode electrically connected to an output of the EL device are electrically connected to each other. To the external connection terminal, an image signal, a control signal, and electric power are externally supplied. The contact hole and the common voltage line are disposed to surround a peripheral of the display area. To the pixel circuit common supply line, the electric power is supplied from the external connection terminal. In a peripheral portion of the display area where the external connection terminal is disposed, the pixel circuit common supply line is disposed outside the contact hole and the common voltage line with respect to the display area.

    摘要: Power consumed by a resistor connected between a first power supply and a drive control circuit is controlled by a power driving circuit connected to a second power supply. When the value of current that flows into the resistor fluctuates, the value of current output from power driving circuit to a control terminal of the drive control circuit is controlled in such a manner that power consumed is the same as that when the resistance value of the resistor is a set value. As a result, the value of power consumed by the resistor is rendered substantially constant without being influenced by a variation in the resistance value of the driven resistor or by the power supply voltage. If such a drive circuit is used in driving the printhead of a printing apparatus, stabilized drive can be achieved with the minimum margin, power consumption can be suppressed and the lifetime of the printhead can be prolonged.
