A color-mixing fixing device includes a first fixing rotary member, and a second fixing rotary member for forming a nip together with the first fixing rotary member. After toner images of a plurality of colors stacked on one surface of a recording medium are fixed by a nip, toner images of a plurality of colors stacked on the other surface of the recording medium are fixed by the nip, thereby forming full-color images on both the surfaces of the recording medium. Each of the first and second fixing rotary members has a surface rubber layer with an impact resilience of 50% or less.

N-Cyclohexylmaleimide having a cyclohexylaminosuccinic anhydride content of 0.001 to 1 wt. % is used as the main raw material for the production of heat-resistant resins. The resins are produced by a process of copolymerizing the above material with at least one monomer copolymerizable therewith which is characterized by the use of a monomer having a low yellowness, the addition of a compound which can inhibit the evaporation of the non-radical compounds contained in the monomer through reactions, the addition of an antioxidant, the use of a solvent containing alcohol, or the presence of a non-radical-polymerizable acid anhydride or carboxylic acid. The heat-resistant resins produced by the use of the above raw material or the above process are excellent in transparency, i.e., less discolorable, even when an increased amount of N-cyclohexylmaleimide is used for the purpose of imparting more excellent heat resistance. Accordingly, the heat-resistant resins can be suitably used in the fields necessitating both a low discolorability and a high heat resistance.

The present invention provides a stabilized maleimide compound which is hard to discolor during storage. The maleimide compound has a content of primary amines of not more than 500 ppm or further has a content of maleic anhydride in the range of 5 to 2,000 ppm or a content of 2-amino-N-substituted succinimide compounds of not more than 300 ppm. Furthermore, it is preferable that the content of chlorine compounds reduced as a chlorine atom is not more than 10 ppm and further the content of volatile components having a boiling point of not more than 200.degree. C. at normal pressure is not more than 2,000 ppm.
