摘要： An image-forming apparatus with multiple toner image-forming units that form toner images by developing electrostatic latent images by means of a developer containing a nonmagnetic toner and a magnetic carrier. Each of the toner image-forming units has a photoreceptor, a developing device that develops an electrostatic latent image borne on the surface of the photoreceptor, and multiple cleaning rolls, which have a magnetic particle layer of magnetic particles at the surface that are located in the state freely rotatable and in contact with or in the neighborhood of the surface of the photoreceptor. Furthermore, the cleaning rolls absorb nonmagnetic toners present on the surface of the photoreceptor on the magnetic particle layer thereof by rotation and the photoreceptor is rotating at a peripheral velocity of approximately 200 mm/sec or more.

摘要： An image forming apparatus is capable of performing image formation at a processing speed of not lower than 150 mm/s. An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises a surface layer containing a siloxane-bases resin having charge-transporting properties and a crosslinked structure. A cleaning device comprises a brush member disposed such that the leading end of said brush comes in contact with said electrophotographic photoreceptor. The product (Rz×We) of the surface roughness (Rz [μm]) of said electrophotographic photoreceptor after 200,000 rotations thereof and the wear rate of said electrophotographic photoreceptor per 1,000 rotations (We [nm]) is not greater than 20.

The photoreceptor includes a conductive substrate and a silicon compound-containing layer located on the substrate and containing a cyclic siloxane compound and/or derivatives thereof. The cyclic siloxane compound has a cyclic structure containing a repeating unit represented by formula (1) wherein A1 and A2, which may be the same or different, each represent a monovalent organic group.

摘要： A process for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor, which includes contacting a solution containing at least one of optically functional organosilicon compounds represented by formula (I) F—[D—A]b  (I) with a solid catalyst for reaction, then separating the solid catalyst to form an optically functional coating solution, and coating and curing the optically functional coating solution to form a cured film, an electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least one layer made of the cured film produced by this process, and an image-forming apparatus having the same. The process can produce an electrophotographic photoreceptor having excellent mechanical strengths and a long life stably on an industrial scale over a long period of time by using the stable coating solution having a long pot life, the electrophotographic photoreceptor is excellent in stability and mechanical strengths and has a long life, and the image-forming apparatus has an excellent stability and a long life.
