A synchronous serial data two-wire communications bus that can transfer data at rates up to 100 kbit/s (standard mode), 400 kbits/s (fast mode), or 3.4 Mbit/s (high-speed mode). The load of I2C bus can vary from 10 pf to 400 pf. Data transfer on the I2C bus takes place through IO's used to connect the devices on the I2C bus utilizing two different IO buffers for DATA and CLOCK lines that can be switched into any of the three different modes of operation without using any external current source or external control circuit. IO buffers are provided with two additional pins ENHS and HLOAD to switch the IO buffers in different modes of operation. Both DATA and CLOCK buffers have built-in current sources, and their control circuits control the rise and fall time of I2C bus in different modes of operation.

The invention entitled “A Microwave Induced One Pot Process for The Preparation of Arylethenes” provides a method for the preparation of commercially important 2- or 4-hydroxy substituted arylethenes like styrenes or stilbenes in one pot utilizing cheaper substrates in the form of 2- or 4-hydroxy substituted cinnamic acids and their derivatives as well as reagents in the form of base such as sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, lithium hydroxide, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, potassium bicarbonate, potassium carbonate, ammonium acetate, imidazole, methylimidazole and the combination thereof, with or without solvent such as dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, acetonitrile, acetone, methyl imidazoles, ionic liquid, water and the like. The reaction time vary from 1 min-12 hrs and yield of the products from 49-76% depending upon the base, acid, substrate source of heating monomode or multimode microwave or conventional. It is important to mention that the presence of 2- or 4-hydroxy substitution at phenyl ring of cinnamic acids and their derivatives is essential requirements towards formation of corresponding arylethenes in one step.

A method of determining a tool geometry and tool orientation for any prescribed path along a workpiece of a cutting tool is described. A parameter set is provided, where parameters of the parameter set include tool geometry and tool orientation relative to a surface of the workpiece. Values of the parameters in the parameter set are determined such that no local interference or global interference occurs, where local interference occurs when a portion of the tool immediately adjacent a cutting edge of the tool contacts a sidewall of a groove already cut by the cutting edge, and global interference occurs when a portion of the tool away from the cutting edge contacts a sidewall of a groove already cut by the cutting edge.

The invention relates to a registration method used for registering at least one dual mode mobile station (MMS) with an associated private base station (DBS). The private base station is connected to the public telephone network (PSTN, ISDN) and uses, for transmission and reception, frequencies which are close to or identical to those used in a cellular radio system. The dual mode mobile station can operate either in “cordless” mode, used to communicate via said private base station, or in “cellular” mode, used to communicate via base stations (BTS) within the cellular radio system. Registration of the dual mode mobile station with the private base station constitutes a preliminary stage enabling the operation of the dual mode mobile station in “cordless” mode, whereby, following each incoming or outgoing call, a conversation can be established between the dual mode mobile station and other telephone equipment, via the private base station. According to the invention, the registration method consists in interchanging signals in accordance with a preset protocol based on a preset frequency hopping law, determining the frequency over which each signal is to be transmitted, and on a preset uplink start-up frequency, over which the dual mode mobile station transmits the first signal. The frequency hopping law and the uplink start-up frequency being specific to, and known by, the dual mode mobile station and associated private base station.

In mobile radio communications systems using time-division multiple access (TDMA), intersymbol interference caused by time differences in multipath media is avoided by equalizing data blocks. When a data block (BD) is received, the impulse response of the channel on which the block was transmitted is estimated, a set of receive parameters (PP) is evaluated, an optimal length (Nopt) of the block (BD) is determined from the parameters (PP), and when the optimal length (Nopt) is less than the actual length (N) of the block (BD), channel variation tracking (PO) is undertaken.
