摘要:
An imaging based bar code reader for imaging and decoding a target bar code. The reader features a housing including a scanning head defining a horizontal axis and an imaging system supported by the housing for imaging the target bar code. The imaging system including a 2D sensor array and focusing optics receiving reflected illumination from the target bar code through the window and focusing the reflected illumination onto the sensor array. The sensor array includes an orthogonal array of pixels and defines a horizontal axis. The reader further features a decoding system for decoding an image of the target bar code. The sensor array is oriented such that the horizontal axis of the sensor array is at an acute angle with respect to the horizontal axis of the target bar code when the target bar code is being presented to the scanning head such that the horizontal axis of the target bar code is substantially parallel to the horizontal axis of the scanning head.

摘要:
A target is illuminated with high intensity light pulses to make the target appear stationary to a solid state imager of an imaging reader to improve reader performance at high swipe speeds of the target.
摘要:
A solid-state imager is mounted at a point-of-transaction workstation for capturing images of diverse targets useful for customer identification, customer payment validation, and operator surveillance. The imager is manually or automatically triggered and is operated at high speed to resist image blurring due to relative movement between the target and the imager.
摘要:
A solid-state imager is mounted at a point-of-transaction workstation for capturing images of one- and two-dimensional indicia and is operated at high speed to resist image blurring due to relative movement between the target and the imager. Dedicated hardware assistance and computation resources are allocated to decode multiple, continuous and simultaneous video streams from multiple imagers at the workstation.

Scan lines are projected through a single horizontal window of a slot scanner and onto multiple surfaces of a product bearing a bar code symbol to be electro-optically read. The symbol may be in any orientation and on any vertical surface of the product, as well as on the bottom surface of the product.
摘要:
A dynamic omni-directional scan pattern is generated in an electro-optical reader for reading indicia by oscillating a mirror located between a light source and a rotating mirrored component. Light from the mirror is reflected off the rotating component and swept across a plurality of stationary mirrors for reflection therefrom through a window of the reader.

A vertical slot scanner generates a full coverage scan pattern for reading symbols presented or moved past a vertical window. Scan lines are generated in upper and lower central regions of the window to improve scanner productivity.

The invention relates to a scanning device for reading bar code symbols, wherein the scanning device comprises a housing having a substantially horizontal surface and a substantially vertical surface. A motor rotates a polygon mirror, which reflects a light beam from a light source and redirects it toward a mirror array and out a window in the substantially horizontal window. Another motor rotates another polygon mirror, which reflects a light beam from a second light source and redirects it toward a second mirror array and out a window in the substantially vertical surface. A plurality of sensors detects light reflected back from a bar code and generates a plurality of electrical signals proportional to the intensity of the reflected light.
