A feedback signal reflecting feedback information describing the signal as received by the feedback communication device is received. The feedback signal comprises frames, and a frame comprises slots, where a slot has a slot power value. The frame timing of the frames is established from the slot power values. The signal is modified according to a next diversity parameter adjustment in accordance with the frame timing.

A control signal is received. The control signal comprises windows communicating power indicators that reflect the power of the signal. A previous power trend is estimated from previous power indicators, and a current power trend is estimated from current power indicators. A power trend change is determined from the previous power trend and the current power trend, and a phase increment is determined in accordance with the power trend change. A next phase adjustment is calculated from the current phase adjustment and the phase increment.

A modification increment is determined in accordance with the previous power descriptor value and the current power descriptor value. A next modification is calculated from the current modification and the modification increment, and a phase and an amplitude of the signal are adjusted in accordance with the next modification.

    摘要: A communication system comprises a reference base station which collects one or more signal features of a mobile station signal. The reference base station determines a first location parameter of the mobile station signal it receives. The reference base station forwards the signal features to an auxiliary base station. Using the signal features, the auxiliary base station creates a replica of the mobile station signal as transmitted by the mobile station. The auxiliary base station correlates the replica with a same mobile station signal as received at the auxiliary base station in order to determine a second set of signal features. The auxiliary base station uses the second set of signal features to determine a second location parameter. The position of the mobile station is determined using the first and second location parameters. The process may be repeated at a plurality of auxiliary base stations and for a plurality of different location parameters in order to improve the accuracy of the determination of mobile station location.

    摘要: A system and method for expanding high inbound message traffic in a two-way pager network. The network includes a central base station which receives inbound messages from a plurality of subscriber units via a plurality of receiver base stations, and wherein a central base station controller is adapted for receiving only one inbound message from a subscriber during each inbound transmission time slot. Inbound message capacity is expanded by providing a message management system between the receivers and the central base station controller. Subscribers are selectively grouped into a multicast group for simultaneously transmitting messages to the message management system, the simultaneously transmitted messages making up a multicast message group. The message management system receives the multicast message group, directs exactly one selected message of the multicast message group to the central base station controller, and diverts the remaining messages to a multicast processor.
