摘要: The recording strategy is optimized by determining a pulse response so as to minimize the difference between the reproduced waveform obtained by recording and reproducing the recording pulse signal wherein the record data is superposed with a high-frequency pulse and the waveform calculated by convolution of the record data and pulse responses. In this process, a single recording pulse waveform is recorded on a single track of the optical recording medium for three or more times, and sampled values zp,1, . . . , zp+3,1, . . . , . . . , zp,2, . . . , zp+3,2, . . . , zp,3, . . . , zp+3,3, . . . , of the reproduced waveforms reproduced therefrom are averaged in the order of the sampling to be used as the data for the reproducing waveform. Here, the first suffix for z represents the order of the sampling, whereas the second suffix represents the number of iterated times. The use of the averaged data can remove the influence by the random noise on the reproduced waveform.

摘要: An optical recording medium has a substrate, and a recording film whose status is changed by irradiating with a laser beam. The recording film includes (αTe)xβTe3 as a major component (x is a positive real number). The α is selected from the group consisting of Ge1-aSna and Ge1-aPba (a is a real number not less than 0 and not more than 1). The β is selected from the group consisting of Sb2-yIny, Sb2-y-zInyBiz and Bi2-yIny (y and z are real numbers more than 0 and less than 2; y+z is more than 0 and less than 2).

摘要: An optical information recording medium is provided that records and reproduces information by means of laser beams irradiated from the side of the light transmission layer. The optical information recording medium provides a large capacity and a high degree of reliability and is inexpensive. At least a reflective film and a light transmission layer are formed, in the presented order, on the information recording surface of the support substrate. Information is recorded and/or reproduced by using the laser beam irradiated from the side of the light transmission layer. The reflective film, which is made of an alloy containing Ni and Cr as main components, has a thickness of 20 nm or more to 80 nm or less.

摘要: An optical information recording medium includes a transparent substrate, a first dielectric layer, a recording layer, a second dielectric layer, a reflecting layer, and a third dielectric layer. The substrate constitutes an optical disk for performing a mark edge recording operation. The first dielectric layer is formed on the substrate. The recording layer is formed on the first dielectric layer and is irradiated with a laser beam to undergo a reversible phase change between a crystalline state and an amorphous state, thereby recording and erasing information. The recorded information is reproduced by detecting a change in optical characteristics accompanying a phase change of the recording layer. The second dielectric layer is formed on the recording layer. The first and second dielectric layers protect the recording layer. The reflecting layer is formed on the second dielectric layer and has a predetermined transmittance. The third dielectric layer is formed on the reflecting layer and has a thickness set to control a relationship between an absorbance Ac of the recording layer in the crystalline state and an absorbance Aa in the amorphous state according to Ac>Aa. The dielectric layer is made of a dielectric material having a refractive index n larger than 1.5.

摘要: The optical disk writing system disclosed is one in which a data written on an optical data writing medium is verified essentially simultaneously with the writing on the medium. The written data is verified by detecting a timing of the light irradiated on the medium and by measuring return light doses at a rise and a fall of the light irradiated on the medium and comparing the doses thereof with predetermined reference values. The medium used is one which uses a phase transition reversible between a crystal state and an amorphous state for writing/reading/erasing of data on a data writing film and includes, a first protective film, a phase transition type data writing film, a second protective film, a reflection film formed in this order on a transparent substrate. The thickness of the first protective film is set such that, of three reflectivities of the data writing film respectively in crystal, amorphous and melted states, the reflectivity in the crystal state and the reflectivity in the melted state are made different from each other, and the reflectivity in the amorphous state and the reflectivity in the melted state are made different from each other. A high speed writing operation can be carried out and an overwrite operation can be completed in one time disk rotation.
