    摘要: A mobile concentration system (MCS) for milk comprising: a vehicle having a holding tank for receiving and holding milk; and a concentration system mounted to the vehicle and coupled in fluid communication with the holding tank. The concentration system adapted to remove milk from the holding tank and process the milk while the vehicle is stationary and/or uploading or unloading of milk, or underway. The concentration system including a reverse osmosis filtration system adapted receive the milk from the holding tank and process the milk to generate a stream of substantially water and a product stream of concentrated milk. A feed section comprises product/water/CIP (clean in place) valving systems, high pressure pumping equipment operating to receive and pressurize the milk through-out the system. A concentration level control system includes a control valve regulating the concentrate flow to achieve a fixed system operating pressure to control the system. A method of collecting and concentrating milk from the concentration system comprising: under pressure, depositing milk into a holding tank; drawing milk from the holding tank while the vehicle is stationary and/or uploading or unloading of milk, or underway and directing the milk to the concentration system carried by the vehicle; and operating the concentration system while the vehicle is stationary and/or uploading or unloading of milk, or underway to remove water from the milk by reverse osmosis filtration system in combination with the concentration level control system.

    摘要: Described herein are endoscopic staplers used to apply one or more fasteners to body tissue. In one embodiment, a fastener-applying device, which is preferably a stapler, is passed transorally into the stomach and used to plicate stomach tissue by engaging tissue from inside of the stomach and drawing it inwardly. In the disclosed embodiments, the tissue is drawn inwardly into a vacuum chamber, causing sections of serosal tissue on the exterior of the stomach to be positioned facing one another. The disclosed staplers allow the opposed sections of tissue to be moved into contact with one another, and preferably deliver staples for maintaining contact between the tissue sections at least until serosal bonds form between them. Each of these steps may be performed wholly from the inside of the stomach and thus can eliminate the need for any surgical or laparoscopic intervention. After one or more plications are formed, medical devices may optionally be coupled to the plication(s) for retention within the stomach.

    摘要: A cigar cutter has a body formed of a pair of plates having aligning orifices defining a passage for the head of a cigar to be cut. A pair of opposed cutting blades, movable toward and away from each other within the body each have a cutting edge, which cooperates with the opposing cutting edge during toward movement to cut the cigar head. Each of a pair of bridges is affixed to one of the cutting blades and moveable therewith. A spring engages the bridges and biases them toward an extended position wherein the cutting edges are moved away from each other within the body. A latch automatically engages both of the blades approximate the inward terminus of their toward movement and maintains the blades in a retracted storage position wherein the edges are not exposed. The cutting edges are each inwardly tapered to cause the edges and the cigar to cooperate to force the opposing blades together during their toward movement to automatically sharpen the blades. Each of the bridges has a guide for receiving and guiding the other of the cutting blades during their toward movement.
