摘要: A wireless sensing system uses heartbeat signals to monitor locations and usage information for assets. Heartbeat signals are signals transmitted periodically. However, in fast-paced environments, assets may move too quickly for heartbeat signals to provide useful information. In these and other scenarios, the wireless sensing system receives a first set of data describing signal strength between a tape node associated with an asset and a first node associated with a first portion of an area and a second set of data describing signal strength between the tape node associated with the asset and a second node associated with a second portion of the area. Based on relative signal strengths described by the received data, the wireless sensing system determines a path of the tape node associated with the asset.

摘要: Methods, systems, and computer program products for creating a monitoring network are described. A server associates a master wireless node with a package in a first set of associated packages. The server and the master wireless node communicate with one another over first type of wireless communications interface. The server also associates a peripheral wireless node with another package in the set and with the master node. The peripheral wireless node and the master wireless node communicate with one another over a second type of wireless communications interface. The peripheral node includes a sensor operative to generate sensor data by sensing an environmental condition. The master wireless node processes the sensor data to generate one or more package-level statistics of the processed sensor data.

摘要: A method and system for replacing a first wireless node in an IoT system includes determining, by the first wireless node, that the first wireless node needs imminent replacement. The determination may be made, for example, based on a battery of the first wireless node being below a threshold level. The first wireless node initiates a discovery protocol for a second wireless node installed in proximity to the first wireless node, the second wireless node installed to replace the first wireless node. Upon discovery of the second wireless node, the first wireless node transmits a configuration file to the second wireless node, which the second wireless node copies to a storage of the second wireless node. The second wireless node configures itself to operate as a replacement for the first wireless node in the IoT system, based at least in part on the copied configuration file.

摘要: A solar-powered wireless communication device a flexible circuit, a device layer positioned adjacent to the flexible circuit and having a plurality of electronic components coupled to the flexible circuit, a flexible cover positioned over the device layer, a flexible substrate coupled with a second side of the flexible circuit, opposite the first side, by a first adhesive layer, and a solar panel positioned at a surface of the solar-powered tape node and coupling with the flexible circuit. The solar panel has a light-receiving surface facing away from the flexible circuit and is operable to generate electrical power when light is incident on the light-receiving surface. The solar-powered wireless communication device being operable to determine that power available to the solar-powered wireless communication device is below a first threshold and delegate at least one task of the solar-powered wireless communication device to another node of a network communications environment.

摘要: The disclosure features a method of creating a communications network. In this method, a first tape node includes a first type of wireless communication interface and a second type of wireless communication interface having a longer range than the first type of wireless communication interface. A second tape node includes the first type of wireless communication interface that is operable to communicate with the first tape node over a wireless communication connection established between the first type of wireless communication interfaces of the first and second tape nodes. Over a wireless communication connection, the first tape node sends programmatic code executable by the first tape node to function as a master tape node with respect to the second tape node.

摘要: A system is disclosed for tracking and monitoring sets of assets in or on a container using RFID-RF tags associated with the assets. The system comprises a specimen holder bin or similar container and a wireless tag affixed to the specimen holder bin. The specimen bin holder is configured to hold a plurality of assets. The wireless tag comprises a radio frequency identifier (RFID) circuit, a radio frequency (RF) circuit, a processor, a memory storing an identifier (ID) associated with the RFID circuit, and an energy source electrically connected to the RFID circuit, the RF circuit, and the processor. The wireless tag is configured to broadcast the identifier associated with the RFID circuit responsive to an interrogation signal by one or more gateways associated with the system. In some embodiments, each asset of the plurality of assets additionally comprises an RFID tag.
