    摘要: A method and system for replacing a first wireless node in an IoT system includes determining, by the first wireless node, that the first wireless node needs imminent replacement. The determination may be made, for example, based on a battery of the first wireless node being below a threshold level. The first wireless node initiates a discovery protocol for a second wireless node installed in proximity to the first wireless node, the second wireless node installed to replace the first wireless node. Upon discovery of the second wireless node, the first wireless node transmits a configuration file to the second wireless node, which the second wireless node copies to a storage of the second wireless node. The second wireless node configures itself to operate as a replacement for the first wireless node in the IoT system, based at least in part on the copied configuration file.

In this method, a first tape node includes a first type of wireless communication interface and a second type of wireless communication interface having a longer range than the first type of wireless communication interface. A second tape node includes the first type of wireless communication interface that is operable to communicate with the first tape node over a wireless communication connection established between the first type of wireless communication interfaces of the first and second tape nodes.     摘要: A system is disclosed for tracking and monitoring sets of assets in or on a container using RFID-RF tags associated with the assets. The system comprises a specimen holder bin or similar container and a wireless tag affixed to the specimen holder bin. The specimen bin holder is configured to hold a plurality of assets. The wireless tag comprises a radio frequency identifier (RFID) circuit, a radio frequency (RF) circuit, a processor, a memory storing an identifier (ID) associated with the RFID circuit, and an energy source electrically connected to the RFID circuit, the RF circuit, and the processor. The wireless tag is configured to broadcast the identifier associated with the RFID circuit responsive to an interrogation signal by one or more gateways associated with the system. In some embodiments, each asset of the plurality of assets additionally comprises an RFID tag.
