    摘要: A molten metal alloy, such as bismuth and tin, is injected into a die block to form a tightly packed rectangular array of shot pellets. The ratio of waste sprue to shot pellets is minimized and the shot pellet yield per casting is maximized by allowing the shot pellets in the rectangular shot array to touch other shot pellets in adjoining rows and columns through small interconnecting vias. The interconnecting vias allows the molten metal to flow between shot pellets, as well as from the sprue into the shot pellets. This allows the molten metal to bypass blockages that reduce the shot pellet count per casting. The flow of the molten metal through the die block is also improved by machining away a small amount of metal from the face of the die in order to form a flashing between the shot pellets.

Thereupon, the actuating member (44) is changed over to a retracting actuation position (D), so that the actuating member (44) changes over a stopper member (42) to a retracted posture (B).

    摘要: A method to facilitate the movement of heavy molds for use in an injection molding machine employing load bearing lugs on each mold half and a lifting bar which receives and supports the lugs and mold. In the method, the lifting tool is slid over the lugs. The tool and mold is then raised and lowered until the balance point is found. The lifting bar is then clamped in place on the lugs so that the mold can be safely raised and inserted into an injection molding machine. The balanced mold can be easily moved in and out of the guide rails of the injection molding machine since it is presented as a balanced load with no tendency to bind in the machine.

    摘要: A molding machine for die casting, injection molding, and other similar processes, comprises a base shaped to support thereon a two-part die, and a ram for converging and diverging the die halves between open and closed positions. A pair of clamping frames are pivotally mounted on one end of the base, and include a closed border shaped to surround or receive therein side portions of the die halves. The clamping frames are laterally pivoted between a fanned-apart or open position wherein the die can be freely lifted off of the base, and a folded or closed position wherein the frame borders surround the die side portions and capture the same between the ends of the frames. In the closed position, retractable compression columns extend between the die and one end of the frames to positively lock the die halves in the closed position, whereby die separation forces developed during injection of the die are resisted substantially solely by the clamping frames.

The novel plate apparatus and the method of degating provides a pinhole break-off point so that trimming of the cast part is unnecessary.
