Each clamping member has teeth defined in an outside thereof. A nut is mounted to the tube and has threads defined in an inner periphery thereof so as to be engaged with the teeth of the clamping members. A groove is defined in the inner periphery of the nut and balls are received in the groove. A pressing ring is received in the nut and positions the balls. A sleeve is mounted to the nut and has protrusions on an inner periphery of the sleeve, the protrusions being engaged with notches defined in an outer periphery of the nut. When rotating the sleeve, the nut is rotated to move the clamping members.

    摘要: A chuck has a body centered on an axis and formed with a rearwardly open bore adapted to fit with a drive spindle. Respective jaws are displaceable in angled guides of the body and a ring rotatable on the body has an internal screwthread meshing with the jaws for moving the jaws between their end positions on rotation of the ring. A latch element is radially displaceable on the body between a holding position projecting radially into the bore and locking the spindle therein and a freeing position clear of the bore. A sleeve is displaceable between a latched position forcing the element into the holding position and an unlatched position allowing it to move into the freeing position. A spring between the sleeve and the body urges the sleeve into the latched position. The spring is mostly forward of rear ends of the jaws in the rear-end positions thereof.

    摘要: A chuck for use with a manual or powered driver having a housing and a rotatable drive shaft extending therefrom is provided. The chuck includes a generally cylindrical body member having a nose section and a tail section. Each of a plurality of jaws is slidably positioned in one of a plurality of angularly disposed passageways in the body. Each jaw has a jaw face formed on one side thereof and threads formed on the opposite side thereof. A nut is rotatably mounted on the body in engagement with the jaw threads so that rotation of the nut moves the jaws axially within the passageways. A locking member, in a first axial position, is rotatable with respect to the driver housing. In a second axial position, it operatively engages the housing and the nut so that the locking member is rotationally held to the housing and the nut so that the nut is rotationally held to the housing. The locking member is axially reciprocal between the first axial position and the second axial position.
