The locking control sleeve (14) moves the locking ring (7) and the ratchet ring (5) between locking and unlocking positions.

Abstract: A chuck includes a chuck body extending along a longitudinal axis, the chuck body including a plurality of slots each arranged at an oblique angle with respect to the longitudinal axis. A plurality of jaws each includes a first engagement portion, a jaw end, and a drive end. Each of the jaws is disposed within one of the plurality of slots and is movable between a close position and an open position. A biasing member is coupled to the plurality of jaws and is operable to bias the plurality of jaws toward the close position and a rotating assembly is selectively engageable with the plurality of jaws such that when engaged, the plurality of jaws are movable in response to rotation of the rotating assembly.

Abstract: A drill chuck and a drill apparatus is provided that includes a drilling machine, which has a motor and a machine spindle that is supported in rotary fashion in a machine housing. The a drill chuck is connected to the machine spindle and can be moved between a clamping configuration and a drilling configuration and has a clamping sleeve and a chuck body in which clamping jaws are movably guided by a threaded connection. When a sliding sleeve is moved relative to the chuck body between a first position that corresponds to the clamping configuration and a second position that corresponds to the drilling configuration, a flow of force traveling from the motor via the machine spindle to the threaded connection is shifted to a flow of force traveling from the motor via the machine spindle to the chuck body and vice versa.

Abstract: A power drill has a housing holding a motor and a drive member rotatable about an axis. An arbor extending along the axis outside the housing is rotationally coupled by complementary formations with the drive member. A tube shaft on which is fixed a chuck body holding a plurality of axially displaceable jaws. A sleeve in the tube shaft is rotationally coupled to the arbor. A pusher element braced axially forward against the jaws extends axially rearward into the sleeve, and interengaging screwthreads on the sleeve and pusher element axially displace the pusher element and the jaws on relative rotation of the sleeve and pusher element. A setting sleeve rotationally coupled to the rear end of the tube shaft is axially displaceable between a tightening position engaging a slip coupling on the housing and a drilling position disengaged from the slip coupling and rotationally coupled to the arbor.
