摘要: A semi-rotary unit for continuously cutting or printing articles from sheets or from a continuous web, includes a rotary cylinder for supporting about its circumference a removable plate and defining a cutting or printing station, a conveyor for sequentially conveying sheets or a continuous web past the rotary cylinder, and a motor for driving the rotary cylinder and the conveyor. The unit further includes means for determining a correction factor for plates which are originally manufactured for use on a rotary cylinder having a different diameter to that of the unit, and control means for varying the speed of the rotary cylinder relative to the sheets or continuous web in accordance with the correction factor.

摘要: The invention relates to a rotation screen printing method for flat textile structures, especially textile strips (1). According to said method, at least one image which is represented as a pattern repeat is printed on the flat structure (1) by means of a continuously rotating printing cylinder (2) having at least one circumferential section in the lateral surface, which is permeable to printing medium. In order to print a pattern repeat in the circumferential direction, a flat textile structure (1) is moved into a printing position determined by the printing cylinder, is brought into active communication with the printing cylinder (2) and is taken out of communication after the printing. To this end, the flat textile structure (1) is moved back and forth, in steps, for each pattern repeat. A device for carrying out said method comprises a transport unit (4) having a reversible drive device (11) for displacing the flat structure by means of a step-by-step and back and forth movement.

摘要: A device for embossing a set of motifs having a predetermined motif interval onto a length of film utilizes a rotating embossing cylinder which is provided with a recess for the attachment of an embossing matrix. The embossing matrix has a usable length which is less than the entire circumference of the embossing cylinder but more than 50% of the circumference of the embossing cylinder. A rotating counterpressure cylinder is positioned adjacent the embossing cylinder, such that the film advances between the counterpressure cylinder and the embossing cylinder for embossing said motifs from said embossing matrix onto the film and for defining a free phase during each rotation of the embossing cylinder when the recess is positioned adjacent the film. The device also comprises movement means for providing an additional relative movement between the length of film and the embossing matrix during each free phase of the embossing cylinder. A control mechanism determines the amplitude of the additional relative movement in accordance with the motif interval. It is a significant advantage of the present invention that the embossing cylinder circumference is independent of the motif interval thus allowing for easy change of the embossing matrix.

摘要: A system is provided for intermittently processing successive definite lengths of flexible sheet material in continuous web form, e.g., tractor-fed computer printout paper, with nearly tensionless transport of the web through web feeding operations, cyclical web processing and driving operations, and web delivery operations, that are not speed-interdependent. For each processing cycle, with the web extended without slack through an upstream lead to a processing station where a certain length of the web is positioned to be next processed, an excess length of loose web is fed into that lead, typically forming a loop in it; then the certain web length is processed and driven forward a distance shorter than the length of loose web; and then web is retracted from the upstream lead to remove the residual loose web and leave a next certain web length in position to be processed. The processed web is delivered and may be folded into a pack as a downstream lead of it is made slack by web driven from the processing station. The system enables increased speeds of offset printing of paper such as continuous computer printout forms.

摘要: An attachment for an offset press, of the type adapted to process individual sheets of paper, to enable it to feed and print continuous form in proper registery. In one embodiment the invention includes a paper feeding station downstream of the press and a separate registration station upstream of the press. The paper feeding station employs an adjustable rotating circumferential segment, driven off the press, cooperating with a draw roller to intermittently engage the continuous form paper, draw a predetermined increment through the press and then disengage from the paper. In another embodiment the paper feeding function is accomplished by the printing blanket which discontinuously engages the paper and feeds it through the press in predetermined increments thereafter disengaging from the paper after each of the increments is fed. In both embodiments the registration station maintains continuous engagement with the paper by means of a freely rotatable, endless pin belt which engages the pin holes of the paper and individually registers each increment of paper to the press while the paper is disengaged by the paper feeder. A rotating disc, operatively connected to the pin belt, includes a plurality of windows for receiving a solenoid activated, wedge-shaped finger which arrests and positions the disc and paper in one of a plurality of predetermined positions. A sensor associated with the paper feeder detects when the paper is engaged or disengaged and generates a signal to the solenoid.
