Abstract:
A water cooler having a container with a reservoir for storing water has a thermoelectric module operable to cool a conductor plate and form ice in the reservoir. A temperature sensor connected to the plate senses the temperature of the plate and activates a timer when the temperature is below the temperature at which water freezes. The timer operates a selected period of time to allow a block of ice to be formed on the plate. A photoelectric sensor operable to sense a selected size of the block of ice functions to actuate a switching device that changes the polarity of the electric power supplied to the thermoelectric module to supply heat energy to the plate to release the block of ice from the plate. The released block of ice floats in the water in the reservoir and cools the water.

Pivotally mounted in the wall mounting frame structure is a bucket holder and pourer that is pivotable from an upright position to an inclined pouring position.
Abstract:
An improved actuator probe assembly is provided for a bottled water station of the type having an actuator probe for engaging and opening a valved bottle cap on an inverted water bottle. The probe assembly comprises an inner support funnel and an outer adapter sleeve retained by a probe fitting in assembled relation with a cover plate adapted for mounting onto a station housing in a position over an upwardly open water reservoir. The support funnel extends downwardly through a central opening in the cover plate and defines a cup-shaped receiver structure for receiving and supporting an inverted water bottle, with the probe fitting positioned at a lower end of the support funnel and including the actuator probe. The adapter sleeve is carried about the support funnel and includes an outwardly radiating diaphragm member for closing the top of the reservoir when the cover plate is installed onto the station housing. A pair of annular seals located respectively on the support funnel and on the diaphragm member sealingly engage upper and lower surfaces of the cover plate. The seal on the diaphragm member additionally engages and seals with the reservoir. A vent path having a filter element therein extends from the reservoir through the diaphragm member and support funnel to the exterior of the bottled water station.
Abstract:
A container supporting and dispensing apparatus for supporting a bottle in a sloped position and dispensing the contents of the bottle through a valve. The device includes a valve assembly which may be threadably coupled to an associated bottle. The valve assembly can then be secured to a container support which positions the bottle in a sloped position to facilitate gravity assisted dispensing through the valve assembly. An alternate embodiment of the present invention includes a pump assembly for re-pressurizing the bottle after use. A further alternate embodiment includes both an ice tray for containing ice within the container support and a water circulation assembly for collecting chilled water from the ice tray and cascading the chilled water over the associated bottle to provide a cooling effect to the contents of the bottle.
Abstract:
An installer comprising a supporting structure and a carriage adapted to carry a water bottle. The carriage is mounted on the supporting structure for movement along a path between a loading position in which the carriage is adapted to receive the water bottle and an unloading position in which the carriage is at a higher elevation than in the loading position and inverted with respect to the loading position. A stopper is mounted on the carriage for movement with the carriage between the loading and unloading positions. The stopper is movable between a closed position in which it essentially closes a mouth of the water bottle and an open position in which the stopper is displaced from the closed position. A cam system is carried by the supporting structure and is responsive to the carriage approaching the unloading position for moving the stopper from the closed position to the open position.
Abstract:
An air filter assembly for a water supply bottle used with a bottle water dispenser. The air filter has a tubular member for attachment to the neck of the water bottle. A breather tube is attached to the side of the tubular member and an air filter is attached to the breather tube. When the water bottle is inverted into a reservoir in a bottled water dispenser, the water drains from the supply bottle until the end of the tubular member is immersed in the water and the partial vacuum in the supply bottle prevents any further water flow. The water in the reservoir can rise and submerge the breather tube connection point to the tubular member. When the water in the reservoir drops below the connection point air will pass through the filter into the bottle to release more water. A check valve can be used in the breather tube to prevent the entry of air into the water supply bottle if the air filter on the breather tube is removed. The air filter assembly can be attached to the neck of the water supply bottle or it can be mounted in the reservoir so the water supply bottle can be connected when inverted or placed in the bottle stand.
Abstract:
For separating cooled and uncooled water in a refrigerated bottled drinking water cooler well, a floating receiving reservoir floats in the well and has an upper edge resting on or above a surface of water in the well, the reservoir having an open top surface and being supplied by uncooled water from a mouth of a drinking water bottle turned upside down and submerged in the reservoir. A conduit communicates the reservoir with a first water outlet as the floating reservoir moves up and down in the well. Drawing water from the first outlet causes a level of uncooled water in the reservoir to be lowered until air enters the mouth and water from the bottle is emitted into the receiving reservoir. Drawing water from a second outlet connected to the well causes a level of the surface of water in the well and thus of the uncooled water in the floating reservoir to drop until air enters the mouth and water overfills the receiving reservoir pouring over the upper edge into the well. The separator improves the separate supply of cooled and uncooled water from a refrigerated bottled drinking water cooler.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for converting a barrel type unit into an assembly for holding chilled products, particularly, barrel units having an upper annular portion of a smaller circumference as compared to other annular portions thereof, the barrel unit also including top and bottom end closure walls, the method including supplying a kit of separate components including a tub member adapted to hold ice and product positioned therein, and a sizing device for determining the proper location for severing the barrel side wall, the tub member having an annular support flange associated with the upper portion thereof adapted to be cooperatively engageable with a peripheral edge portion of the barrel unit when the barrel unit is severed at a particular location therearound, the sizing device enabling a user to locate the particular location on the barrel side wall at which to sever the same such that the annular edge resulting therefrom will be compatible with the annular support flange associated with the tub member. Once the proper severance location is determined, the barrel unit is severed at such predetermined location and the tub member is positioned therewithin such that the annular support flange engages the severed edge portion of the barrel unit. The tub member may also include a fluid outlet to drain the waste water from the melted ice which will accumulate therein, and drain tubing can be provided and attached to conduct the waste water from the tub member to a suitable location exterior the assembly.
Abstract:
A beverage dispenser holder which is adapted for ready installation on a vehicle dashboard, such as an automobile dashboard, and which may be easily removed for installation in another vehicle, when desired, includes a body portion for holding the dispenser in dispensing position, a strip of material for supporting the body portion to an upper surface of the vehicle dashboard, as by a hook and loop type fastener, and strip means for holding the body portion to (and away from) a lower portion of the dashboard, preferably also by a hook and loop fastener. It is preferred that the holder be of a synthetic organic polymeric material of suitable strength and flexibility for the desired purpose and that the beverage dispenser be held in inverted dispensing position, with a dispensing valve at the bottom end (when inverted) thereof. The holder preferably includes means for supporting a cup below the beverage dispenser and the strips for fastening onto upper and lower portions of the dashboard may be transversely scored or weakened to facilitate cutting or bending, as desired, so as to conform to the dashboard. Also within the invention are a combination of a beverage dispenser and a holder, as described, installed on a vehicle dashboard, and a dispensing valve-seal combination for a beverage container, especially useful for dispensing beverage from such a container, in inverted position.
