摘要: A refrigerator includes: a main body having a storage chamber; a door for opening and closing the storage chamber; a thermoelectric module for cooling the storage chamber; an outside temperature sensor for detecting an outside temperature; a storage chamber temperature sensor for detecting the storage chamber temperature; and a control unit for applying a voltage within a range between the maximum voltage and the minimum voltage to the thermoelectric module. The control unit applies the set voltage, not the maximum voltage, to the thermoelectric module when the outside temperature is the uppermost outside temperature range among the plurality of outside temperature ranges and thus the temperature of the control is lowered and power consumption is reduced.

The output power of the thermoelectric device may be determined based on whether the temperature of the storage compartment is within a first temperature region including the set temperature, a second temperature region, or a third temperature region. In the first and second temperature regions, the thermoelectric device may operate at different output power and which gradually increases as the outside temperature increases. In the third temperature region, the thermoelectric device may operate at a third output power which exceeds the first output power and is greater than or equal to the second output power.

摘要: A solid-state switch architecture for multi-mode operation of a thermoelectric device and a method of operating such a device are provided herein. The switch architecture includes one or more inputs operable to receive power from one or more power supplies. The switch architecture also includes multiple outputs operable to provide power to respective channels of the thermoelectric device. The switch architecture also includes multiple solid-state switches operable to connect the one or more inputs to the outputs and a controller operable to toggle the solid-state switches to provide multiple modes of operation of the thermoelectric device. In this way, the thermoelectric device can be operated in a more efficient way while decreasing the size and increasing the reliability of the switch architecture. Also, this may allow the use of standard and less expensive power supplies. This may result in a significant reduction in cost and an increase in reliability.

The cooling control section causes the cooling section to change the pressure of the cooling gas and/or change the circulation speed of the cooling gas on the basis of a result of the determination of the pressure determining section.

摘要: The present invention provides a refrigerator capable of supplying hot and cold drinking water to a user. The refrigerator includes a cold water tank and a hot water tank and a Peltier effect thermoelectric element disposed between the tanks. When a unidirectional current is supplied to the thermoelectric element, its heat absorption portion can absorb heat from the cold water tank and cool down the water stored therein; and its heat generation portion can release to the hot water tank and heat up the water stored therein. The cold water tank can further be cooled by the cold air in the refrigerator; while the hot water tank can further be heated by the heat in the machine room.

In some embodiments a controller controls power supply to the thermoelectric cooler, and a temperature monitor provides a temperature input to the controller. In some embodiments the controller maintains a temperature of a 3D IC within a predetermined range by cycling power to the thermoelectric cooler.
