A method and interlocking building system for construction of buildings capable of multiple stories from a variety of standard size panels and a variety of connectors for interlocking the panels. The panels may be horizontally disposed to form floors, ceilings or roofs or may be vertically disposed to form walls. The panels are formed of a plastic shell and contain a plurality of metal strips spaced therein and received within internal guide tracks or integral internal vertically-oriented trussing. The metal strips or trussing have interlocking tooth profiles which project beyond the plastic panel shell. When the panels are used as wall panels, the panels are preferably disposed so that the frame members are vertical. Panels may be interlocked, one vertically above the other, to form multiple stories, with the frame members of all stacked wall panels being in horizontal alignment to form generally continuous vertical strength members. Panels can also be interlocked side by side with integral mate and female sides to form continuous walls in a horizontal direction. A variety of 2-way, 3-way and 4-way connectors with male and/or female receptacles allow the panels to be interconnected in virtually unlimited ways to allow interconnection of both vertical and horizontal panels.

A molded plastic skid base for a resin building is formed with all of its openings facing downward and with runners integral with a deck that forms a floor of the base. Replaceable wear plates cover the bottoms of the runners and have truck loading notches molded at their ends and a longitudinal channel in which fastener heads are positioned. Stake down slots are provided in the ends of the runners and wear plates in a diagonal orientation so as to be aligned toward the center of the building, below the base. The floor of the base is a grid formed of diagonally oriented ribs, at least some of which may be shorter in their center than at their ends, is crowned in the center and has openings which taper upwardly. A solid sheet may be placed over the grid to close it. Bosses for receiving the wear plate mounting fasteners are positioned at the same locations along the sides of the base as the fastener mounting locations for attaching the building side walls to the base, to provide a greater thickness of material at those locations for the building sidewall fasteners to penetrate. Edges of a septic tank opening formed in the base are slanted downwardly and rear corners of the opening are triangular in shape. Downwardly opening openings are also formed in the base into which weights and weight covers may be fixed.

The invention relates to a method and a kit for producing structural parts and complete structural members using structural elements, which are to be connected, as well as to an arrangement for connecting the structural elements to one another. It is an object of the invention to provide a method, a kit and an arrangement of the generic type, with which it is possible to assemble structural bodies of different form and development of the structural elements into self-supporting structural members, structural sections and areas. Pursuant to the invention, this objective is accomplished owing to the fact that the structural elements are assembled together into planar structural parts and structural members by means of edge-overlapping and surface over-lapping connecting elements, which are to be inserted, and are fixed and locked in the completely assembled state as compact structural bodies. The invention is developed owing to the fact that the structural elements of the kit are constructed as basic elements and as connecting elements, the connecting elements having guides, in which the basic elements are accommodated and brought into a relationship with one another, in which they form planar, as well as spatial structures of different geometric shape and are assembled using direction-changing elements.

A building system using replaceable insulated panels supported by a frame-work. The panels include mated side edges and fastened end edges to form sealed slipping joints. The wall panels are connected to a concrete floor or to floor panels at the base and to roof panels at the top. Both panels, the roof and the floor panels are fixed to the framework to receive and secure the wall panels. Also, the roof panels utilize edging reinforcement to prevent panel delamination and provide supports for installations. The framework is supported with concrete foundations or with movable footings for portable buildings. A combination of slipping joints, and fastening connections of panels to one another and to the framework provide for panel disengagement and replacement of individual panels.
