    摘要: A prototype connector has a section in the general shape of the letter. “C”, thereby causing it to have a convex outer surface. Ends of the prototype connector form lips that are contiguously connected through respective flanges to ends of a web. A connector for making a butt connection between two cement composite panels is formed by two prototype connectors that have outer surfaces of their webs welded together. A connector for making an “L” connection between the two panels is formed by welding an outer surface of a flange of one prototype connector to an outer surface of a web of another prototype connector. A connector for connecting the two panels together at a preselected angle is made by using two sheet metal plates to connect each flange of a first prototype connector to a flange of a second prototype connector. A connector for making an “X” connection between four cement composite panels is made by welding outer surfaces of flanges of a first two prototype connectors to outer surfaces of webs of a second two prototype connectors in a manner that causes the outer surfaces of the webs of the four prototype connectors to define a rectangle.

    摘要: A molded plastic skid base for a resin building is formed with all of its openings facing downward and with runners integral with a deck that forms a floor of the base. Replaceable wear plates cover the bottoms of the runners and have truck loading notches molded at their ends and a longitudinal channel in which fastener heads are positioned. Stake down slots are provided in the ends of the runners and wear plates in a diagonal orientation so as to be aligned toward the center of the building, below the base. The floor of the base is a grid formed of diagonally oriented ribs, at least some of which may be shorter in their center than at their ends, is crowned in the center and has openings which taper upwardly. A solid sheet may be placed over the grid to close it. Bosses for receiving the wear plate mounting fasteners are positioned at the same locations along the sides of the base as the fastener mounting locations for attaching the building side walls to the base, to provide a greater thickness of material at those locations for the building sidewall fasteners to penetrate. Edges of a septic tank opening formed in the base are slanted downwardly and rear corners of the opening are triangular in shape. Downwardly opening openings are also formed in the base into which weights and weight covers may be fixed.

    摘要: A joint for insulating panels is disclosed. Each panel has an exterior metal plate and an interior metal plate, between which an insulating filling material is inserted. One end of the interior metal plate has a depression which extends along a flange towards the interior of the panel. The other end of the interior metal plate has a projection corresponding to the depression, the projection extending along a flange towards the interior of the panel. The relationship between the height of the depression/projection (B) and the thickness of the panel (A) is ##EQU1## At least one of the surfaces of the panels abutting each other has an elastic isolating element positioned between the exterior metal plate and one of the flanges of the interior metal plate.

    摘要: The invention is concerned with a panel assembly including at least two panels and a connector member for mounting the panels to a support surface, the panels being positioned edge-to-edge in coplanar relationship with the respective confronting edges thereof spaced apart, and the connector member between the confronting panel edges and interlocking the panels together by being fixedly secured to the support surface. Each panel has first and second surfaces lying respectively in first and second parallel planes and has on its respective confronting edge a tongue and a groove, the tongue and groove extending along the panel edge and between the first and second planes, and respectively projecting and opening outwardly angularly towards the first plane. The connector member comprises an elongated body filling the space between the confronting panel edges and having on each side thereof a tongue and a groove respectively projecting and opening outwardly angularly towards the second plane; the tongue and groove on either side are complementary to and lockingly engage with the respective groove and tongue on the adjacent respective confronting edges of the panels. The connector member cooperates with the panels to urge the panels towards one another in tight locking engagement as a result of a compressive force being exerted on the member in a direction towards the support surface when the member is secured to the support surface. The provision of such connector member does away with the hitherto practice of driving nails or screws in the panel edges to fix the panels to the support surface, while still providing a tight locking engagement between the panels.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for joining panel members into walls or dividers is provided which allow thermal expansion of the panel members to be absorbed by the joints. The panel construction includes turned down edges having grooves on the inside faces of the edges. Each edge is sized to fit side-by-side in a channel with the edge of an adjoining panel and with their grooves over ridges on the inner walls of the sides of the channel. An insert member having protrusions on its sides is wedged between the side-by-side edges for maintaining the grooves over the ridges while allowing pivotal movement of the edges around the ridges.

    摘要: A panel joint for joining first and second adjoining, upstanding wall panels such that their front surfaces are in a common plane and the forward facing corners of their adjoining edges are held tightly together. The panel joint includes first and second joint elements fixed to the back surfaces of the first and second wall panels, respectively, adjacent to their adjoining edges. The first and second joint elements each include upstanding leg portions disposed in spaced parallel relation, with one of the leg portions having a flanged end which bridges the spacing and butts against the side of the other leg portion. Clamping devices link the leg portions of the first and second joint elements.
