Abstract:
Bearing assemblies for supporting opposite stub shafts of an upper drawing roll of a textile sliver drawing frame. Each bearing assembly includes a bearing sleeve having an inner cylindrical surface and an open end through which a respective stub shaft projects into the bearing sleeve; rolling bodies disposed circumferentially between the stub shaft and the inner cylindrical surface of the bearing sleeve; a spring supporting member disposed in the bearing sleeve and being affixed to the inner cylindrical surface thereof; and a holding element disposed in the bearing sleeve between the spring supporting member and the end face of the stub shaft. The holding element is axially displaceable relative to the bearing sleeve. A spring is disposed in the bearing sleeve between and in contact with, the spring supporting member and the end face of the stub shaft. The drawing roll is axially shiftable relative to the bearing sleeves of the first and second bearing assemblies against the force of the spring towards which the roll is shifted.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for accurately guiding and treating textile strips of great width using a quasi-continuous roll which does not bend. The roll is used for guiding material presented in strip form, in particular a textile material which is in contact with a peripheral portion of the roll. The roll is sub-divided into tubular segments attached to one another by flanges supported by an inner ring of a ball bearing. An outer ring of the ball bearing is fixed in a collar integral with a support. In an angular region other than the one which is in contact with the material, the support, made from thin and flat sheet steel, extends radially outwardly to a region of attachment to the frame.
Abstract:
An improved web tension control system including a shaft and a hollow cylindrical roller mounted on the shaft for rotation about the shaft and for universal pivoting movement relative to the shaft that tends to compensate for variations in the tension of a moving web or substrate passing over the hollow cylindrical roller. The hollow cylindrical roller is mounted on the shaft by a spherical bearing assembly that permits universal pivoting movement of the hollow cylindrical roller relative to the shaft and a roller bearing assembly positioned between the outer surface of the spherical bearing assembly and the inner cylindrical surface of the hollow cylindrical roller to permit free relative rotation of the roller about the shaft. In an alternate embodiment, slots may be formed in the abutting spherical surfaces of the spherical bearing assembly, and an insertable wafer can be placed in such slots to selectively limit the pivoting movement of the hollow cylindrical roller.
Abstract:
A hydrodynamically lubricated assembly is disclosed for adjustably and rotatably supporting the journals of work roll pairs in the housing of a roll stand in a rolling mill. The assembly includes a pair of eccentric sleeves journalled for rotation in the housing. Inner sleeves containing journal bearings are rotatably received in the eccentric sleeves, and the work roll journals are rotatably received in the journal bearings. Hydrodynamic and optionally also hydrostatic fluid supply networks communicate with the journal/bearing interfaces via radial conduits in the inner sleeves and journal bearings. The inner sleeves are anchored against rotation, and the eccentric sleeves are rotatable to adjust the parting between the work rolls.
Abstract:
An improved one-point grease distribution system for belt conveyor idlers of a type including bearings with inner and outer races and a shaft disposed through the inner races. The shaft has an axial bore on each end thereof and at least one flow port connecting the blind end of each axial bore with the outside periphery of the shaft. A first annular seal member is disposed on each end of the shaft. A grease tube is disposed around the shaft and is sealed by the first annular seal members to the shaft at each end thereof to form a continuous grease supply passageway on one end of the shaft, through the axial bore, through the flow port, and through the space between the shaft and the grease tube to the other flow port and axial bore. A sealed reservoir is disposed on each side and through each bearing and this grease seal reservoir is defined by a back seal and a front seal. At least one small orifice is disposed in each of the first annular seal members and leads from the grease supply passageway to the grease seal reservoir for permitting grease under pressure in the grease supply passageway to enter the grease seal reservoir whereby grease flows from the supply passageway, through the orifices, through the bearings and the flowing grease pushes used grease out the front seal as it fills the grease seal reservoir with new grease.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process cartridge mountable to an image forming apparatus, comprising a rotary member, a holding member for holding the rotary member, and a plurality of rolling members assembled between the rotary member and the holding member independently from the holding member.
Abstract:
A three-race bearing for rolls or pressure rollers having inner and outer races and a common center race forming an outer roller bearing which is exclusively a radial bearing and the inner roller bearing which is exclusively an axial guiding rolling bearing.
Abstract:
A conveyor roller is provided including a first, elongated hollow cylindrical member having opposing ends. A second, elongated cylindrical member is disposed concentrically within the first cylindrical member has opposing ends and an outside diameter smaller than an inside diameter of the first cylindrical member so as to define a gap between an outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical member and an inner peripheral surface of the first cylindrical member. Shaft structure is coupled to the second elongated cylinder so as to extend beyond the ends thereof. Fluid lubricant is in the gap. Retaining structure is constructed and arranged to retain the second cylindrical member within the first cylindrical member in such a manner that the first cylindrical member may rotate freely about the second cylindrical member upon the fluid lubricant.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an adjustable-crown roll having a stationary roll axle which is supported on the machine frame by means of articulated bearings, and a roll mantle which is arranged to revolve on the axle. Hydrostatic loading members or an equivalent pressure fluid chamber or series of chambers are arranged in the space between the axle and the roll mantle. By means of the loading members or equivalent, the profile of a nip formed with a counter-roll of the roll is regulated. A support bushing arranged concentrically with the roll mantle is attached to one end of the roll mantle and revolves along with the roll mantle. A bearing is installed on the support bushing. The bearing receives axial forces from the roll mantle and transfers the same to the machine frame through the non-revolving bearing block or housing of the bearing. The bearing is arranged, in the axial direction, outside the roll, whereby the roll is suitable for use as a hot roll.
