摘要： A method, system, and apparatus for attenuating a dialing confirmation tone includes receiving an enable signal from a tactile user input device, generating at least one dual-tone multiple frequency (DTMF) tone, and communicating the at least one DTMF tone to a telephone line. The method further includes attenuating a signal level of the at least one DTMF tone by a predetermined amount to produce at least one attenuated dialing confirmation tone in response to receiving the enable signal, and communicating the at least one attenuated dialing confirmation tone to an audio output device.

摘要： A method for accessing and browsing the interne through the use of a telephone and the associated DTMF signals is disclosed. The preferred embodiment provides a system that converts the information content of a web page from text to speech (voice signals), signals the hyperlink selections of a web page in an audio manner, and allows selection of the hyperlinks through the use of DTMF signals generated from a telephone keypad. Upon receiving a DTMF signal corresponding to a hyperlink, the corresponding web page is fetched and again delivered to the user via one of the available delivery methods such as voice, fax-on-demand, electronic mail, or regular mail.

摘要： Methods and systems are provided for improving the accuracy of a speech recognition system in recognizing alphabetic character input. If spoken alphabetic characters are erroneously recognized by a speech recognition system, a user may reenter the alphabetic characters using DTMF key tones on the user's telephone keypad to assist the speech recognition system in determining the correct input. If the input is originally input using DTMF key tones, the user may reenter the input as spoken alphabetic characters to assist the system to identify the correct input from the combinations of input that may be associated with the DTMF key tone entry.

The method includes the steps: selecting a mode of operation from a group of multiple operating modes; detecting an off-hook condition in the telephone line; generating a false signal according to the selected SIT and the selected mode of operation; and, sending the false signal over the telephone line in response to the incoming telephone call once the off-hook condition is detected.

摘要： The present invention relates to a telecommunication device and method which converts pulses generated by rotary dial phones to DTMF signals, allowing the use of CTI applications regardless of the type of telephone set used by the caller or the type of the CO switch. Pulses are identified by the device's algorithm and converted into appropriate DTMF signals. This device connects across in parallel with all the telephone lines on the subscriber side at the CO that require monitoring to detect loop current. Pulse dialing as well as overdialing from a rotary phone is thereby detected and these pulses are converted into DTMF signals, suitable for extended services. The device can also determine time and date of the call, number dialed by the user and also the length of the call from the end of the initial dialing to the disconnection of the line.
