摘要: The present invention discloses a control device and method for formation of a weld seam based on frontal visual sensing of a weld pool. In the present disclosure, structural light is adopted to irradiate the concave surface of the weld pool, and a visual sensor is adopted to acquire corresponding structured light images. The weld pool depression feature is acquired through image processing. The welding current is adjusted in real time to maintain the weld pool depression feature constant, and thus the uniform backside width of the weld seam can be acquired to achieve uniform and consistent penetration of the weld seam. The present disclosure only relies on the structural light information on the topside of the weld pool to achieve the control of formation of the weld seam and can be applied to the filler-wire-free DC gas tungsten arc welding of tight butt joints.

摘要: Embodiments of welding systems and methods with coordinated dual power outputs supporting a same welding process or a same AC output process are disclosed. One embodiment of a welding system includes an engine and a generator operatively connected to the engine, where the engine is configured to drive the generator to produce electrical input power. The welding system also includes a power supply operatively connected to the generator and having at least one controller. The power supply is configured to convert the electrical input power to form two power outputs that are coordinated with each other, at least in time, via the controller to support a same welding process. The same welding process may be, for example, a hotwire welding process, a tandem metal inert gas (MIG) welding process, or an alternating current (AC) output process.

摘要: A welding system that, using a junction at which a standing plate and a bottom plate meet as a welding line, makes an electrode weave centered on the welding line and thereby welds along the welding line. While weaving, the electrode moves forward in a welding advancement direction until a bottom-plate-side weaving edge. When the electrode arrives at the bottom-plate-side weaving edge, the electrode moves backward with respect to the welding advancement direction until a standing-plate-side weaving edge. The electrode repeats this weaving motion on the bottom-plate side and on the standing-plate side. The system can suppress occurrence of inferior bead appearance and of welding defects in horizontal fillet welding.

摘要: Disclosed example welding power systems and methods monitor supply power inputs from a primary power source. The supply power is compared to current and/or power threshold values corresponding to limits associated with the primary power source. If the supply power exceeds a threshold value associated with the limits, the welding power system controls welding parameters or devices to adjust a supply power demand, thereby ensuring the draw on supply power does not exceed the capabilities of the power source. In some examples, the disclosed welding power system presents a subset of welding parameters identified as available for operation based on the capabilities of the power source. The user interface displays only the subset of available welding parameters to an operator for selection, thereby ensuring the draw on supply power does not exceed the capabilities of the power source.
