    摘要: In a magnetic recording head of the scanning type, a scanning head is disclosed. The scanning head conventionally includes AN INNER POLE PIECE (1) HAVING A RECORDING GAP (2) BETWEEN A PAIR OF POLES (3, 3'') THEREOF, A PAIR OF OUTER POLE PIECES (6, 6'') EACH HAVING UPPER AND LOWER ENDS, RESPECTIVE UPPER ENDS (198, 198'') OF WHICH ARE ARRANGED MAGNETICALLY TO COUPLE WITH RESPECTIVE POLES (3, 3'') OF THE INNER POLE PIECE (1), AT LEAST ONE SIGNAL COIL MAGNETICALLY COUPLED WITH THE INNER POLE PIECE, AND A PAIR OF SCANNING ELECTROMAGNETS (7, 7'') WHICH ARE MAGNETICALLY COUPLED ACROSS BOTH NARROWER SIDES OF THE LOWER ENDS (4) OF THE POLES OF INNER POLE PIECE (1) AND BOTH SIDES OF LOWER ENDS OF THE OUTER POLE PIECES (6, 6''), RESPECTIVELY; SAID PAIR OF SCANNING ELECTROMAGNETS (7, 7'') APPLYING MAGNETIZING FORCES TO THE INNER POLE PIECE, SAID MAGNETIZING FORCES BEING OF ONE POLARITY AT ONE END OF THE RECORDING GAP AND DECREASING IN VALUE TO ZERO BETWEEN BOTH ENDS OF SAID GAP AND THEN REVERSING IN POLARITY AND INCREASING IN VALUE TOWARD THE OTHER END OF SAID GAP. The improvement to the scanning head is that the inner pole piece (1) is made of plates having an anisotropic soft magnetic characteristic, wherein the direction of greater permeability is arranged to to beat right angle with the direction of the recording gap. By employing the anisotropic soft magnetic material in the pole piece, the head is able to attain recording of signals of higher frequencies.

    摘要: A magnetic recording head for recording on a magnetically responsive recording medium is arranged to incorporate a core structure of high magnetic retentivity material with individual core members being magnetized by a respective winding to produce a magnetic flux through the magnetically responsive recording medium. A flux return path is arranged to distribute the magnetic flux in the return path to a flux density level which is ineffective to produce a recording on a recording medium and is arranged to provide a flux return path on the other side of the recording medium from the magnetic recording head. A common bias and reset winding is arranged on the core structure and is separately energized to normally bias the core structure to a magnetic state which is ineffective to produce a recording on the recording medium during the absence of a signal on the individual windings on the core members and to reset the core structure to a non-recording state after the core members have been placed in a recording state by a signal applied to the respective windings on the core members.

    摘要: Two to four channel switching circuitry for a cartridge tape player using a magnetic tape head having four pick-up areas and which is movable to two positions with respect to the tape tracks on the tape in a cartridge received in the player includes four amplifier circuits, each associated with a pick-up area on the tape head and each of which is coupled to a speaker. A switch is operated in accordance with the receipt of a two or four channel cartridge in the player to connect two of the speakers to a first amplifier circuit and the other two speakers to a second amplifier circuit when in the two channel mode or each of the amplifier circuits to a corresponding one of the speakers when in the four channel mode. In the two channel mode, operation of the amplifier circuits is controlled by a rotary switch rotatable with a cam member included in a tape head indexing assembly. A first or second pair of amplifier circuits is activated in the two channel mode in accordance with the position of the rotary switch wiper.
