    摘要: A negative electrode for lead accumulators has the form of a rectangular, expanded metal, grid plate 11 of copper. The grid plate serves as carrier for the active mass and for the supply and extraction of current. The direction of stretching of the expanded metal extends parallel to the edge of the rectangular grid plate at which the connection lug is arranged. A lead strip 13, which is in one piece with the connection lug, is conductively secured to the top edge of the grid plate. The lead strip 13 is cast onto the grid plate 11 (FIG. 1).

    摘要: A wet-type self energizing power pack is disclosed which uses an electrolyte essentially made of oil, sulfuric acid and a minor amount of acetic acid. The device includes positive and negative plates which are separated by means of separators. The positive plates mainly consist of an alveolated structure filled with a compound of carbon, lead oxide, glycerine are provided with a diagonal row of holes while the negative plates are made of lead-tin alloy and are provided with two rows of holes, one appearing at the top and the other one appearing at the bottom of the plate. A method of preparing the electrolyte is disclosed as well as the method of charging the battery.

    摘要: Low antimony alloys of lead are used for casting electrode supports in lead accumulators. They include less than 4% antimony by weight to avoid various poisoning effects of antimony on the electrochemical processes involved. Such alloys tend to have grains of excessive size which can lead to brittle castings. To reduce the grain size the present invention includes an additive constituted by a rare earth or a mixture of rare earths, e.g. misch metal at between 0.001% and 1% by weight, and preferably at 0.2%. The invention also provides an electrode support cast from the alloy, an electrode including such a support and a lead acid battery including such electrodes.

    摘要: A power feed arrangement provided as a safety measure in a communications system of the type in which two terminal stations are connected by at least one transmission path which transmits information signals from one of the stations to the other through information signal repeating means. Two sources (one at each station) supply energizing current along the transmission path to the repeating means, and, in addition, a monitoring signal is generated at each station to be transmitted along the transmission path to the other station and detected at that other station. If one of the monitoring signals is not detected, the energizing current supply sources are disconnected from the transmission path. Provision is made to ensure that the supply sources can only be connected to the transmission path following successful transmission and detection of the monitoring signals, and for testing the current output of the sources and the impedance of the transmission path prior to operation of the system.
