    Abstract: A circuit interrupting safety device (CISD) interrupts the flow of current through a pair of lines extending between a source of power and a load. The CISD includes a column reset assembly functioning as a circuit breaker and a contact actuator, a relay circuit including a solenoid, and a fault detecting circuit packaged in a circuit assembly. The solenoid includes a solenoid pin in an extended state when the CISD is reset and a non-extended state when the CISD is tripped.

    Abstract: In one aspect, the application provides an electrical system including a conductor, a ground, an arrester electrically connected to the conductor, and a disconnector assembly electrically connected between the arrester and the ground. The disconnector assembly includes an isolator configured to perform an operating function in response to the occurrence of an event and a housing configured to surround the isolator. The isolator includes a first terminal electrically connected to the arrester by a first wire and a second terminal electrically connected to the ground by a second wire. The housing includes a first opening through which the first terminal extends, a second opening through which the second terminal extends, and a retention mechanism configured to hold the isolator in place relative to the arrester.

    Abstract: An LCDI device includes a shell, a movement unit, and a wire bundle assembly. The shell includes a base and an upper cover connected to each other. The movement unit is disposed in the base, and includes at least one connecting conductor. A first end of the wire bundle assembly is disposed in the upper cover and includes at least one shield detection line, where the shield detection line is electrically coupled to the connecting conductor. The shield detection line includes a connecting terminal at the first end of the wire bundle assembly which is configured to received and retain the connecting conductor inserted therein. The structure of the LCDI enables fast and secure assembling of the wire bundle assembly and movement unit, and eliminates the need for internal re-adjustment of the shield detection lines after assembling, which promotes automation of large scale production.

The power controller unit comprises a microcontroller configured to: receive, from the PDU, a temperature value that indicates a temperature of the PDU, one or more voltage values from the one or more voltage sensors, or one or more current values from the one or more current sensors, perform a determination that the temperature value, the one or more voltage values, or the one or more current values are below one or more of their respective pre-determined threshold values, and send, after the determination, a health status message to a computer located in the vehicle, where the health status message indicates that the PDU is operating in a safe operating condition.

    Abstract: A circuit breaker distribution system is configured to provide selective coordination. The system comprises a solid-state switch disposed as a main or upstream breaker and a switch with an over current protection disposed as a branch or downstream breaker. The solid-state switch comprises a microcontroller to: allow repeated pulses of current through to the branch or downstream breaker in an event of an overload or short circuit, choose a maximum current limit for the solid-state switch as a “chop level” such that the chop level is chosen higher than a rated current of the solid-state circuit breaker but low enough that the solid-state switch is not damaged from repeated pulses over a period of time needed to switch OFF the branch or downstream breaker, and add a pulse interval which is optimized to a system voltage waveform in that chopped pulses tend to be longer and more effective for de-latching the branch or downstream breaker when they occur in vicinity of a zero crossing of the system voltage waveform and chopped pulses are shorter and less effective near peaks of the system voltage waveform.

    Abstract: A drive circuit of a voltage-controlled power semiconductor element, including first to fourth switching elements, first and second delay circuits, an overcurrent detection circuit, a slow shutdown detection circuit and a flip-flop. The first switching element turns on upon receiving an off signal. The second switching element is turned on by the first delayed signal generated by the first delay circuit. The third switching element turns on upon receiving a second delayed signal generated by the second delay circuit through the flip-flop. The fourth switching element is turned on by the slow shutdown detection signal generated by the slow shutdown detection circuit. The first to fourth switching elements extract electric charges from the gate terminal of the voltage-controlled power semiconductor element, with first to fourth extracting capabilities, respectively. The first and fourth extracting capabilities are larger than the third extracting capability and smaller than the second extracting capability.
