    Abstract: A load control system includes a load control device and a remote control for configuring and controlling operation of the load control device. The load control device and remote control may be mounted to an electrical wallbox. The system may be configured by associating the remote control with the load control device, and actuating a button on the remote control to configure the load control device. A second remote control device may be directly or indirectly associated with the load control device. The load control device and remote control may communicate via inductive coils that are magnetically coupled together. The remote control may be operable to charge a battery from energy derived from the magnetic coupling between the inductive coils. The load control device and remote control may include near-field communication modules that are operable to communicate wirelessly via near-field radiation.

    Abstract: A method of controlling a lighting system comprising a plurality of illumination sources each controllable to emit illumination for illuminating the environment and a plurality of control apparatus for use in controlling the illumination emitted from one or more of the plurality of illumination sources, the method comprising: determining the relative position of a first control apparatus compared to a second control apparatus; assigning a function to the first control apparatus, the function defining how the first control apparatus is to control the illumination of one or more illumination sources, wherein the function of the first control apparatus is assigned based on the determined relative position; whereby a first user input can be received at the first control apparatus and the illumination of the one or more illumination sources can be controlled in response to the first user input based on the assigned function of the first control apparatus.

    Abstract: An eye-tracking method includes enabling at least one light source of an array of light sources to emit non-visible light to illuminate an eye. The method also includes obtaining at least one image of the eye while the at least one light source is enabled. A position of the eye may then be determined based on a position of the at least one light source within the array of light sources in response to determining that the at least one image indicates a bright pupil condition when the at least one light source was enabled.

    Abstract: A light control system comprises a light control device and a sensor module configured to detect a motion pattern of a user's hand relative to the entranceway and a light control device. The light control device includes a housing, a proximity sensor configured to detect a position of a door in a vicinity of the entranceway, and a light controller disposed in the housing and communicated with the sensor module and the proximity sensor. The light controller is configured to control the light strip in response to a detected position of the door by the proximity sensor; and control the light strip in response to the motion pattern detected by the sensor module when the door is not detected at a preset opening position or no door is present at the entranceway.

    Abstract: An example of an apparatus to determine a room type is provided. The apparatus includes a sensor to detect a motion event in a space. In addition, the apparatus includes a memory storage unit to store data associated with the motion event. Furthermore, the apparatus includes a communications interface to communicate with an external device. The communications interface is to transmit the local dataset to the external device and to receive an external dataset from the external device to be stored in the memory storage unit. The apparatus also includes an aggregator in communication with the memory storage unit to combine the local dataset with the external dataset to generate a motion signature. The apparatus further includes a matching engine to select a room type based on the motion signature.

    Abstract: A multi-mode eye-tracking system allows independent control of a set of illuminators while providing accurate calculations of both corneal reflections and pupil centers. One illumination mode includes alternating back and forth between a pair of illuminators during successive time segments, then activating both illuminators after a predetermined time interval. One eye-tracking mode includes alternating back and forth between a pair of illuminators during successive time segments, but selecting a single illuminator for activation during successive time segments in the event that a previous computation was unsatisfactory for a given illuminator. One illumination mode includes activating a single illuminator based on the lateral position of the gaze point on the display.
