摘要： The invention relates to a pickup truck having a cab and a bed with a disappearing camper built into the bed, i.e., one which has a lower concealed position and an upper camper position with each side wall of the camper being made in three sections from panel material such as plywood, fiber glass, plastic, etc., having at least a part thereof made of transparent material to serve as windows for the camper. Each side wall has four support rods, one secured to the front edge of the front section, a second secured to the back edge of the front section and the front edge of the middle section, a third secured to the back edge of the middle section and the front edge of the back section, and a fourth secured to the back edge of the back section. The middle section is of variable height to accomodate the rear wheel humps in the bed. Three embodiments of means to raise and lower the camper are disclosed, viz., (1) a rack associated with at least two of the support bars on each side and a piston gear in mesh with the rack which is driven by an electric motor, (2) two rods pivoted at their lower ends to the bed and having a roller at the upper ends to move on an arc in a horizontal track at the lower edges of the front and back sections and means to move the rods clockwise and counterclockwise to raise and lower the sides, and (3) two scissor lifters on each side with means to move them to lifting and lowering position. The back wall is a tailgate pivoted for horizontal or vertical movement to form a door for the camper. A removable sectional top is provided for the camper which can also serve as a cover for the bed.

摘要： A collapsible camper top for pick-up trucks which is characterized by multiple nesting and telescoping sections which are sealed by bottom and top reverse curved, rubber seal members and are adapted to extend and cove the bed of a pick-up truck. The number of nesting sections which are used is dictated by the length of the pick-up truck bed and the sections are nested and retracted in accordion-like fashion inside a fixed section to expose the bed of the pick-up truck for hauling purposes. In a preferred embodiment the nesting sections are mounted on rollers which operate in plate slots provided in roller plates carried by the side rails of the pick-up truck. In another preferred embodiment the nesting sections are extended and retracted by means of a chain drive system which is operated by an electric motor or is capable of hand-operation by a crank. A rear window slides inside tracks provided in the end collapsible section to open the rear end of the collapsible camper top and is deployed outwardly and downwardly of the tracks to close the end section of the collapsible camper top.

摘要： A rail car sliding door includes a substantially rectangular frame having a pair of side frame members and top and bottom frame members which are secured to each other. At least one corrugated panel is secured to the frame. Top, bottom and side reinforcing channels are secured to a respective one of the frame members for door strengthening purposes. The top and bottom reinforcing channels extend over the side reinforcing channels to the door side edges for better bearing loads imposed on the door. The door may advantageously be provided with a corrugated metal panel in which substantially equal amounts of panel material are provided on each side of a plane which bisects the door thickness dimension. The door also may advantageously be provided with a hasp which is secured to the door by means of a U-shaped hasp securing member.

摘要： A sliding roof in which a panel for closing and opening a roof opening is supported with front and rear stays slidable through guides. The front stay is slidable along a first guide provided on a roof frame, and the rear stay is interposed between the first guide and a second guide provided on the underside surface of the panel, so as to be slidable relative to at least either guide. At least one of the front stay, the rear stay and the first guide are formed such that, as the front stay approaches the rear stay with the panel caused to move rearwardly of the vehicle body, a support point of the front stay supporting the panel is raised to be higher relative to a support point of the rear stay supporting the panel.

摘要： A lifting/sliding roof for vehicles having a cover for the selective closing and at least partial exposing of an opening in the roof. The cover, starting from its closed position, can be swung around a transverse axis located near its front end into a tilted-up position wherein its rear edge is lifted up, and can be, for selected embodiments, slid rearwardly either over or beneath the roof along guide rails, extending on both sides of the opening in the roof, into an open position. A catching device that is automatically adjustable as a function of the motion of the cover can be engaged with a counterbearing in the closed position of the cover for holding down the rear end of the cover. The counterbearing is attached at a stationary part of the roof. The catching device is mounted at the cover so as to be displaceable therewith, but it is also in permanent pivotal engagement with a driving rod member which, during swinging motion of the cover, in a raising as well as in a lowering direction, forces the catching device to carry out an additional movement with respect to the cover which, in the raising direction, assists the upward movement of the rear edge of the cover.

摘要： A movable roof apparatus for vehicles includes a movable roof disposed on a roof of the vehicle so as to open and close an aperture formed in the roof. Seal member is provided on a rim portion of one of the movable roof, thereby the movable roof being positioned in the aperture in the airtight state. A driving mechanism is provided on the roof and operatively connected with the movable roof through a cam mechanism for moving the movable roof. The cam mechanism is provided in series with an open position where the movable roof is retreated from the aperture and positioned at one side of the roof so that the aperture is opened a first engaging position where the movable roof is disposed in the aperture, a passing position where the movable roof slightly passes through the roof and is positioned at the other side of the roof, and a second engaging position where the movable roof is disposed in the aperture so that the movable roof is surely disposed in the aperture since the movable roof is oscilated in the aperture.

摘要： A cover assembly is shown for a pickup truck having an open-topped bed. Supported from the top of the side panels of the truck bed is a track that is positioned within the bed and is formed by a pair of parallel rails of C-channel configuration, having an elongated slot extending longitudinally thereof and facing a similar slot on the other rail. The front end of each rail extends partially into a storage box that is fitted down into the truck bed at the front thereof, and this box extends transversely thereof. The track is furnished with a travelling rectangular frame having a pair of flexible side portions formed by a plurality of hinged slide bars that travel within the parallel rails. These slide bars are separated by a short link so that this travelling frame may fold into accordion folds when the frame is shifted forwardly into the storage box. A sheet of flexible material is fitted over the travelling rectangular frame for covering the truck bed. Motor means is furnished for driving the travelling frame and controlling the movement and location of the frame and its cover sheet.
