摘要: An optical waveplate is provided. The optical waveplate includes a first birefringent film including optically anisotropic molecules arranged to form a first twist structure. The optical waveplate also includes a second birefringent film including optically anisotropic molecules arranged to form a second twist structure, the second birefringent film being stacked with the first birefringent film. The optically anisotropic molecules at a first portion of the first birefringent film adjacent an interface between the first birefringent film and the second birefringent film are configured with a first azimuthal angle. The optically anisotropic molecules at a second portion of the second birefringent film adjacent the interface are configured with a second azimuthal angle. The first azimuthal angle is substantially the same as the second azimuthal angle.

摘要: An optical system includes an optical lens, a polarization volume hologram (PVH) layer arranged over the optical lens, and an IR absorbing structure arranged between the optical lens and the PVH layer. The PVH layer being configured to reflect infrared (IR) light. The IR absorbing structure includes a quarter-wave plate (QWP) arranged between the optical lens and the PVH layer and a linear absorptive polarizer arranged between the QWP and the optical lens. 摘要: A varifocal system comprises a stacked first-type liquid crystal (LC) lens structure and a stacked second-type LC lens structure in optical series. The stacked first-type LC lens structure includes a plurality of first-type LC lenses, and a first-type LC lens provides continuously variable optical states in a first step resolution. The stacked second-type LC lens structure includes a plurality of second-type LC lenses and provides a plurality of optical states in a second step resolution. The first step resolution is smaller than the second step resolution, such that when the stacked second-type LC lens structure is switched between two optical states, the first-type LC lenses provide a continuous adjustment of optical power between the two optical states. The stacked first-type LC lens structure and the stacked second-type LC lens structure together provide a continuous adjustment range of optical power for the varifocal system.

摘要: A low voltage charging control and protection circuit for an electronic cigarette is provided. The circuit includes an extended charging circuit configured to charge a battery of the electronic cigarette at a first voltage. The circuit also includes a charging integrated circuit configured to charge the battery of the electronic cigarette at a second voltage. The first voltage is lower than the second voltage. The circuit further includes a microcontroller configured to control the extended charging circuit and the charging integrated circuit to alternately charge the battery of the electronic cigarette based on a high or low level of a voltage of the battery.

The method also includes performing a polarimetric measurement for at least one of the first lens or the second lens, and performing a polarimetric angle adjustment when the polarimetric measurement does not satisfy a predetermined polarimetric condition. The method further includes assembling the first lens and the second lens to form an optical assembly.

摘要: A multifocal system and a method thereof are provided. The multifocal system comprises a first adaptive lens assembly including a plurality of lenses arranged in optical series. The plurality of lenses includes at least one active liquid crystal (LC) lens having a plurality of optical states, such that the plurality of lenses provides a plurality of combinations of optical power, and the plurality of combinations of optical power provides a range of adjustment of optical power for the multifocal system. The multifocal system may include a second adaptive lens assembly configured to provide a plurality of combinations of optical power that is opposite to but having a same absolute value as the plurality of combinations of optical power provided by the first adaptive lens assembly.

摘要: Various embodiments set forth light emission display elements, and display devices that include such display elements. In some embodiments, a display element includes an electroluminescent light source and a pair of reflective elements that form a resonant cavity for a particular range of wavelengths and/or a particular polarization of light. One or both of the reflective elements can include meta-reflectors, such as anisotropic meta-reflectors or chiral meta-reflectors. An optional waveplate can be placed between the reflective elements to adjust the polarization state of light emitted by the display element.
