    Abstract: Described herein is a system for operating a gearbox that includes: a first shaft having a first longitudinal axis; a first actuator assembly operatively connected to the first shaft; a second shaft having a second longitudinal axis; a second actuator assembly operatively connected to the second shaft; and a plurality of engagement elements connected in rotation to the second shaft. The first shaft is hollow, is fitted on the second shaft, and is axially movable relative to the second shaft. The plurality of engagement elements are moreover connected in translation to the first shaft and are axially movable therewith along the first longitudinal axis and relative to the second shaft. The first and second shafts can be operated independently of one another for execution of the movements of selection and engagement of the gears of the gearbox.

    Abstract: An anti-loosening device for a fastening unit of a motor-vehicle wheel is configured to be coupled with a wheel hub. The anti-loosening device is configured to be arranged within the wheel hub along an axial direction, so that a main axis of the anti-loosening device coincides with the wheel axis. The anti-loosening device includes a gear arranged to cooperate with inner teeth of the wheel hub, an elastic element extending axially with respect to the gear, and a coupling element obtained on a sector of said gear, arranged to receive a corresponding fastening. During assembly of the wheel—hub assembly, the anti-loosening device is arranged to create a compressed configuration, wherein the gear is decoupled with respect to the inner teeth, and is arranged within a cavity portion obtained on the inner surface of the wheel hub, so as to allow rotation of the anti-loosening device around the main axis.

    Abstract: An electric vehicle includes a frame module carrying an electric motor unit and a suspension including, for each wheel, upper and lower oscillating arms connected to a wheel support by swivel joints which define a steering axis of the wheel. The suspension includes two shock absorber devices arranged in horizontal positions and along directions transversal with respect to a vehicle longitudinal direction, which is carried by the frame module centrally on the vehicle. Each shock absorber cylinder is operatively connected to a respective oscillating arm by an oscillating linkage member. Brake discs are arranged at remote positions with respect to the wheels, on two output shafts at two opposite sides of the motor unit, which, in one example, includes two electric motors and two respective gear reducer units from which project the output shafts carrying the brake discs; the latter connected to wheel hubs by respective drive shafts.

    Abstract: A system for controlling emissions of a motor-vehicle spark-ignition internal combustion engine includes first and second exhaust gas treatment devices and a secondary air feeding system for feeding secondary air into an exhaust gas conduit, between the first and second exhaust gas treatment devices. The secondary air feeding system is activated only when engine load is greater than a predetermined load value and/or when engine rotational speed is greater than a predetermined speed value. In this condition, an air/fuel ratio of the engine is kept at a value lower than the stoichiometric value, so as to feed the engine with a rich mixture. In one example, an electronic controller is configured for controlling activation of the secondary air feeding system on the basis of a map, as a function of values of the engine load and rotational speed. The map is predetermined depending upon specific characteristics of the engine.

    Abstract: A diesel engine system includes a diesel engine, an exhaust line, a particulate filter interposed in the exhaust line and an electronic control unit for controlling fuel injectors associated with cylinders of the engine. When an accumulated particulate mass in said filter reaches a predetermined threshold, a filter regeneration mode is activated, including activating post-injections of fuel by controlling said injectors, to determine a start of an automatic filter regeneration step, which is caused by an increase in temperature of exhaust gases fed to the filter. The temperature increase is sufficient to burn particulate in the filter. The post-injections of fuel are deactivated whenever a critical condition occurs for at least a first period of time, the critical condition being one in which a temperature value upstream of the filter exceeds a first threshold value. In this case, the regeneration mode is resumed following disappearance of the critical condition.

    Abstract: An electronic control system for a motor vehicle comprising an automatic transmission operable to assume different operating modes, comprising a reverse mode, a neutral mode, a park mode, a drive mode and a manual mode, in response to a manual operation of a selector with at least one control switch and mounted to assume a stable central neutral position when the selector is not operated, and to be movable in opposite selection directions from the stable central neutral position to reach two instable end-of-travel selection positions arranged on opposite sides of the stable central neutral position. The automotive electronic control system is configured to detect operation of the selector and of the control switch and cause the transmission to switch from drive mode to reverse mode in response to operation of the selector in a first selection direction and with the control switch pressed, and from reverse mode to drive mode in response to operation of the selector in a second selection direction opposite to the first selection direction and with the control switch pressed.

    Abstract: A manufacturing process for making different expansion tanks for different cooling systems and/or for different engines, each of said expansion tanks having an inlet mouth and comprising: a plastic shell comprising a) a wall defining a cavity for containing a coolant liquid; and b) at least one collar at said inlet mouth, said collar being outwardly projecting from said wall. Each of said expansion tanks further comprising a tubular insert engaging said collar and defining said inlet mouth; said tubular insert being made of plastic material colored in mass; and retention means which hold said tubular insert relative to said collar. The process comprising making shells identical in shape and size, for all of said expansion tanks; and making inserts that differ in the value of their inner diameter; each inner diameter value being determined at the design stage depending on the type of cooling system and/or the type of engine.
